Canada renews its support to Iraq in the face of challenges

Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed with Canadian Foreign Minister Francois Philip the mechanisms for promoting cooperation between the two countries in various fields, and the Minister appreciated Canada's positions in support of Iraq and bilateral cooperation in various fields.
A foreign ministry statement said, "Minister Hussein touched on the decision taken by the American administration in principle to withdraw its embassy from Baghdad, stressing that the Iraqi government has taken strict measures to protect and secure diplomatic missions operating in Iraq, and he also reviewed the results of his recent visit to Tehran."
He added, "This came in a phone call brought together by Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, Francois Philip, on Friday evening, 02/10/2020."
The Canadian Foreign Minister expressed his support for the government and people of Iraq in facing various challenges, stressing that his country stood by the Iraqis in the war against the terrorist organization ISIS, and stands with them in stabilizing, building the economy, and preserving sovereignty.

The Foreign Minister appreciates Canada's stances in support of Iraq
Just to mention that this individual is called Louis-Phillipe Champagne, very good guy, and respect well in our region, he is the one who represents us on the Federal side in Canada, he is a guy from Shawinigan, the same place that our former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chrétien who also comes from Shawinigan (Quebec) !!
Mr. Jean Chrétien's wife recently died in Shawinigan !!
Louis-Phillipe is considered especially in our region as the future Liberal Prime Minister in Canada by replacing our Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (If we call that a Prime Minister, but that is another thing !!)
Louis Phillipe and his family are entrepreneurs from our region of Mauricie in Quebec !!

The Honorable François-Philippe Champagne was elected Member of Parliament for Saint-Maurice — Champlain on October 19, 2015.
Businessman, lawyer and specialist in international trade, Minister Champagne has more than 20 years of experience in large international companies in Europe, more particularly in the fields of energy, engineering and innovation.
Minister Champagne received a Bachelor of Laws and Masters of American Law from the University of Montreal and Case Western Reserve University, respectively. During his legal training, Minister Champagne also studied public and private international law at the Academy of International Law in The Hague, the Netherlands.
He was Vice President and Senior Counsel for ABB Group, a leading technology company with operations in over 100 countries. He then served as Director of Strategic Development, Interim General Counsel and Member of the Executive Committee of AMEC Foster Wheeler, a global leader in the energy industry.
In 2009, Minister Champagne was named young world leader by the World Economic Forum. Over the years, he has also served on several boards of directors, including chairman of the Canadian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the Banff Forum.
After his election in 2015, Minister Champagne served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance until 2017, when he was appointed Minister of International Trade.
While Minister of International Trade, CETA, the trade agreement between Canada and the European Union, came into effect and Canada signed the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
In 2018, he was appointed Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, overseeing the federal government's ambitious plan of more than $ 187 billion in infrastructure investment.
Re-elected on October 21, 2019, Minister Champagne is currently Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
