Baghdad / NINA / The Jordanian ambassador to Iraq, Montaser Al-Zuabi, affirmed the willingness and desire of the Jordanian government to increase cooperation and joint work with Iraq in various fields and at all levels.
A statement by the Ministry of Industry and Minerals stated that Minister Manhal Aziz Al-Khabaz met today the Jordanian ambassador to Iraq, Montaser Al-Zoubi, and the economic advisor, Rami Muhammad Amin Al-Qudah, to discuss a number of issues of common interest.
The statement indicated, "During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint relations and open new horizons for industrial cooperation between Iraq and Jordan, as well as touching on the issue of customs exemptions for Jordanian products and materials that are not similar to Iraqi materials and products, as there is a preliminary agreement to include Jordanian products with customs exemptions."
The two sides agreed to form another committee from the concerned departments in the Ministry of Industry and the Federation of Iraqi Industries to handle this issue. This committee will visit Jordan next week to work in this regard. During the meeting, a number of common issues and files were discussed.
For his part, the Jordanian ambassador affirmed the willingness and desire of the Jordanian government to increase cooperation and joint work with Iraq in various fields and at all levels, indicating at the same time the willingness of Jordanian investors and companies to work with companies of the Ministry of Industry and to establish promising projects that would benefit the two countries.
