The Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed, on Monday, that the final accounts and the budget are of one degree of importance, stressing the impossibility of building an integrated budget without the final accounts.

Committee member Hussein Al-Uqabi said, "Both the final accounts and the budget are of one degree of importance, as they cannot be separated," according to the official news agency, Conscious.

He added: "The general budget is an estimated budget, and the final accounts are realistic expenditures. Therefore, it is not possible to build a transparent, rational and objective budget, except by looking at the final accounts of the past year."

He pointed out that "there is great neglect of this issue, and the lack of consideration for everything that will lead us to the end of the day, for lack of interest in the final accounts."

Al-Uqabi stressed "the necessity of building an integrated and objective budget, by attaching it to the final accounts," pointing out that "it is not possible to build an integrated budget without the final accounts."
