CURRENT STATUS OF THE REVALUATION/REINSTATEMENT OF THE IQD:
Again, I have to keep reminding everyone that the CBI has not even given any indication that they have set a time period as a target to complete or begin the project to delete the zeros. So, having said this then how can these so-called intel gurus be telling you that the reinstatement is “imminent” ? This crazy stuff. I don’t know you tell me…..
I can tell you right now, without any reservation, that you will not see a reinstatement until early January 2021 at the earliest. I only hope we don’t have to go yet another year after that even. Why?
So, let me bring you up-to-date as to why I am pushing this out until January again.
First of all, we know that January is the best time to reinstate the dinar. This is the beginning of the Iraqi fiscal year and so for accounting purposes it makes total sense and it much more straight forward.
Also, we are just about done with the summer and still they are concerned about the COVID pandemic. I expect some actions from the CBI late this fall concerning the project to delete the zeros, but only if they decide to go in January with the reinstatement. This will be our indicator of intent. Get it? No secrets here. They MUST tell the citizens of Iraq what they intend to do and can’t hide this.
Next, we have not heard anything from the CBI, as I stated above.
Next, there is still work to be done in collection of revenues from many other sectors of the economy. Coincidentally in an article today these areas of revenue generation are ALL talked about for the very first time, ALL in one article so we know they are targeting and going after these areas revenue. They have to do it. They must shift off oil production as their sole source of revenue. See the long article in the articles section of today’s newsletter.
Next, we know they must shift from a socialistic, government run country to a private, capitalistic country letting the private sector take up the slack and burden of providing salaries and pensions, also this creates yet more taxation for GOI revenues. But this is all new concepts to them and they must learn how to do it. I believe the do not have to make this shift completely to get their currency back and will actually need the currency to do it. So at what point do they make the next step?
Next, when we talk about bringing in investors and their money, we are NOT talking about a FREE ride or grants to the GOI. What we are talking about is funding for projects that will then generate income revenues for the investor, get it. I listen to some of these intel calls out there and it seems to me many have the impression that the Kuwaiti conference and th Chinese are just going to “give” billions to Iraq. Really? Instead these are Kuwaiti and Chinese entrepreneurs who want to come into Iraq build factories and establish businesses and sell products to the middle east. I know for a FACT they plan is to make Iraq the “depot” or central logistics operations center for the middle east. So this is BIG but only if realized.
Also, we know the Chinese want to come into Iraq. This move will be highly watched, scrutinized and regulated by the US in the background I can assure you. The trust between the US and China has dropped significantly since much of this corruption between US politicians is being exposed in past trade deals. This will not happen in Iraq.
Next, we come to the Iranian issue. Many of these so-called intel gurus are telling you that the US has made deals with Iran already. Really? Then why did they just recently block-aid four (4) large Iranian oil tankers and confiscate the oil? So I am sick of all these bullshit rumors. Get real!
Next, Al-Kazemi is going to use political blackmail to get his way with these crooked Iranian politicians. Once they get the judicial reforms in place and conduct the June 2021 re-elections there will be nowhere to hide. Much like the upcoming November re-elections in the US there is going to be a huge housecleaning of corruption.
Remember Al-Kazemi was head of the intelligence sector in Iraq so he knows what is going on. He has the files on all of them. In fact, he originated the files. Also, recently we find out that finally, yes finally, they have come out and told us about the US and how they too are dipping into the currency auctions and using them to steal billions from Iraq. So, it is not just Iran as we criticize. It is our own government too. Iraq is being hit from both ends. This too needs to be stopped and at least now it’s all in the open.
I certainly do not see this happening until the 2020 November elections are over. The NSA and Homeland have democrat influenced directors and will keep finding “national security” reasons for pulling the reinstatement each time the US Treasury tries to go ahead, under Steve Mnuchin. So all these banks get notices but I can assure you its going nowhere in a hurry as long and these directors are still in place. They simply refuse to signoff.
Like I said many times already that the baby is so used to sucking on its mother’s tit that it is hard to stop. It is easy money and in the billions. It is exploitation of the currency auctions.
Define to wean off (of) (something): To accustom a baby or an infant mammal to stop relying solely on its mother's milk so as to take nourishment from some other source of food.
Had they stopped the auctions almost a decade ago, like Dr. Shabibi, the then director of the Central Bank in 2012, wanted to do, Iraq might not be in this financial mess. It is hard to grow up and these politician must be “weaned” off the tit but this will take fortitude, willpower and an end to the current corruption.

WASHINGTON CONFIRMS THE CONFISCATION OF THE IRANIAN OIL SHIPMENT AND DETERMINES ITS NEW DESTINATION
A source in the US administration announced, on Friday, that Iranian oil, which was confiscated by the United States on board four tankers bound for France, is being transported to other ships en route to the United States.
This is the first time that the US authorities have confiscated Iranian oil for violating the sanctions imposed on it.

THREE KATYUSHA ROCKETS FELL INTO IRAQ’S BALAD AIR BASE
Iraq’s Security Media Cell announced on Thursday three Katyusha rockets had fallen into Iraq’s Balad air base, 80 km (50 miles) north of the capital Baghdad, which houses U.S. forces but caused no casualties or losses.
A number of rocket and mortar attacks have hit bases hosting coalition forces and landed near the U.S. embassy in Baghdad in recent months. The United States blames Iran-backed militia groups.

Okay so we all must have heard that Good ole Joe has nominated Kamal Harris for his running mate. Really? Oh – why are we worried? She is as bad if not worst as Joe Biden. They make a great couple of idiots. Imagine them running the country? They can then contest the outcome, should Trump win. They are trying to legitimize a reason for a re-count or even holding re-elections again. Do you see what they are doing? This is their tactic for November. The democrats know that if we held appropriate elections they could NEVER win. Do you really think they believe “sleepy Joe” can ever win legitimately?
But if they have to hold re-elections or even contest the results for a period of time, then the current speaker of the house is given presidential powers. Thus, Pelosi would be moved into this position. Get it? Do you see what they want? Do you see yet another nightmare scenario?
So, November is going to be VERY rocky. Just pray, pray and pray the rosary every day. It does make a difference. It has made a difference already in many of the issues we have talked about praying for. What you are doing with your prayers, is telling God that you care enough and if you care enough they he too will move things in your direction. Get it?

A MEMBER OF THE REPRESENTATIVE ECONOMY WARNS OF THE COLLAPSE OF THE COUNTRY'S ECONOMY DUE TO EXTERNAL BORROWING
A member of the Parliamentary Economic Committee, Representative Ali Al-Lami, warned, Saturday (August 15, 2020), of the collapse of the country's economy due to external financial borrowing, while stressing that when governments resort to external borrowing, they commit a crime against the people, he said.
Al-Lami said in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that “successive governments resorting to foreign financial loans is a crime against the people and the country, due to its many negatives, noting THAT “$ 5 BILLION WAS PAID AS INTEREST ON LOANS IN THE 2019 BUDGET.

MP: AL-KAZEMI'S VISIT TO WASHINGTON IS AN IMPORTANT SHIFT IN BILATERAL RELATIONS
The Iraqi coalition stressed, on Saturday, the importance of the visit of the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to the United States of America, which brought it back with the important shift in bilateral relations.
"The relationship with the United States of America must be balanced and based on respect for the sovereignty of the country and the will of the people," said member of the coalition, MP Hassan Fadam, in an interview reported by the Iraqi News Agency, stressing that "the importance of Iraq taking its central role and not being counted on the axis." .

IRAQI PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO THE UNITED STATES
It is certain that the Iraqi prime minister's visit to the United States of America, and his meeting with President Trump U-8/20, is of special importance, and will be an important turning point in determining the future of US-Iraqi relations on the one hand, as well as defining the future of the Al-Kazemi government and his political future on the other hand.

ECONOMIST: THE GOVERNMENT MUST USE THE EXCHANGE RATE OF THE DOLLAR TO OVERCOME THE FINANCIAL CRISIS
The economic expert, Wissam Al-Tamimi, stressed the NEED TO EXPLOIT THE DOLLAR EXCHANGE RATE IN GOVERNMENT BANKS TO MAXIMIZE BUDGET RESOURCES AND CONTRIBUTE TO OVERCOMING THE FINANCIAL CRISIS, pointing out that selling millions of dollars a day enters the state huge sums after increasing the exchange rate.
Al-Timi said to / the information /, that "the dollar exchange rate witnessed stability 6 months ago from today, but it rose slightly, and this increase came after the emergence of the financial crisis in the country due to the drop in oil prices."
He added that "the increase in the exchange rate in government banks contributes to eliminating the current crisis and maximizes state resources, at a time when Iraq needs to make a boom in the banking sector."
And that "many countries depend on the banking sector to invest, achieve revenues, build budgets, launch loans and achieve benefits from them to provide the government with the necessary sums to provide the salaries of its employees.

TIME FOR US TO GET TOUGH WITH IRAQI PM AL-KAZEMI. THIS IS A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
The US should not roll out the red carpet for Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s Aug. 20 visit. Al-Kazemi should not receive praise for saying the right things — HE SHOULD BE JUDGED ON HIS ACTIONS AND INACTIONS TO DATE.
Iraq’s militias have primacy, protesters are being killed, US funds are being funneled to Iran, and Daesh is reconstituting: All under the watch of Iraq’s former intelligence director and current interim prime minister.
The “GIVE HIM TIME AND SUPPORT” argument on Iraqi officials has been popular with academia and the media since 2005. This argument has not proven effective, beginning with former PM Nouri Al-Maliki and now repeated ahead of Al-Kazemi’s visit to the US. It has led to the “forever wars” both Republicans and Democrats want to end. It is the cheerleaders, not the decision-makers in the US government, who repeat this tired old plea.
Who are the cheerleaders? THEY ARE THE EXPERTS IN THINK TANKS URGING THE US NOT TO HIT BACK AT THE MILITIAS ATTACKING IRAQIS AND AMERICANS. They are the lobbyists frantically urging more patience and more financial support, often BECAUSE THEY PROFIT FROM THE CONTINUED US PRESENCE IN IRAQ.
Saying “we need more time and more funds” is the go-to position in the Iraqi playbook, and it has been successful for 17 years. This playbook continues to outmaneuver the US State Department, Department of Defense and even the White House. It is the easiest thing for an Iraqi official to say to an American who is new to the Baghdad portfolio: “I understand, what you are asking for is difficult, I need time and more support.
Remember, the Iraqis using this playbook are the same people who have been in positions of influence ever since the 2003 invasion. The Americans they are outmaneuvering are replaced every six months to two years — they have seen 17 iterations of Americans and the playbook serves the patient Iraqi chess player very well.
This approach led to Al-Maliki’s dismantling of the gains of the 2007 surge and allowed spaces in disenfranchised Sunni areas that were void of a security force willing to protect the Iraqi people to grow an existential threat in Daesh.
It led to Haider Abadi’s failed 2018 election campaign and a victory for Qassem Soleimani’s militias in Iraq. It led to the killing campaign against Iraqi protesters and the condemnation of a US retaliatory strike against Kata’ib Hezbollah after a missile and rocket attack killed Nawres Hamad, an American-Iraqi translator.
This argument also led to militias walking into the Green Zone and attacking the US Embassy, Soleimani’s death, and ended the reign of Iraq’s de facto prime minister Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, passing it onto the new leader of Kata’ib Hezbollah, Abu Fadak. The latter has more power than the prime minister and this is why the US must insist that Al-Kadhimi takes on Iran’s militias.
Iraq watchers that say Al-Kadhimi cannot do anything without US support are missing the fact that the prime minister does not want to take on the militias. Sure, he has ordered a couple of raids and then released those captured within 24 to 72 hours, but Al-Kadhimi wants the US to ignore the militias and continue its funding stream to a corrupt Baghdad. Al-Kadhimi is supported by the status quo because he supports the status quo — the US must force change.
The goal of Al-Kadhimi’s visit is to ask the US for more patience and financial aid. He needs to keep Iraq in the US’ economic favor for Iran’s sake. If Iraq’s economy is made toxic, Tehran can no longer benefit from the most profitable lifeline it currently has.
Al-Kadhimi, the Council of Representatives and lobbyists and experts who wear think tank hats to urge US decision-makers to stay in Iraq are waiting for the outcome of November’s election — they want Joe Biden to win. Iran and its government in Iraq believe a Biden victory would benefit the Islamic Republic and the violent supporters of Velayat-e Faqih that make up the regime’s political parties and militias across the region.
If Donald Trump wins, Iran and Iraq will have to make concessions. If Biden wins, they will let out a sigh of relief, but they will still have to wait out Trump until Jan. 20. Trump will continue to sanction Iran and look at doing the same to Iraqi individuals and entities until the day he leaves office in an attempt to make it harder for an incoming President Biden to unravel his sanctions regime. And, if the Biden camp is smart, Trump’s sanctions will actually strengthen its negotiating position with Iran and the Iraqi government.
Success for Baghdad and success for Iraq are two very different things. Iraqis want the US to use economic and military tools to deal with Iran’s hold over Baghdad. In order to save Iraq, the US must disfavor Baghdad. It is for this reason that the White House should threaten to impose sanctions and designate Iraqi militia leaders, political leaders and members of Iraq’s security forces unless benchmarks are met ahead of the Nov. 3 US election. This is exactly what Iraqis are asking the US to do: Stop facilitating Iran’s takeover of Iraq, go after the militias, and support Iraqis over Baghdad.
The demands should include: The detention or stripping of citizenship of Abu Fadak, Qais Khazali, Akram Al-Kaabi, and Shibl Al-Zaydi; all government officials involved in the killing of protesters should be named and indicted; Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi should be defunded, demobilized and disarmed; and a recruitment campaign to attract 30,000 Sunnis into positions in the Iraqi Army and national police must be started.
Lebanon’s government this week resigned due to pressure from the Lebanese people and the international community. This shows how the international media spotlight can force change. The US is in a position to move that spotlight onto Baghdad’s corruption. We will have to watch Lebanon closely as there are many parallels in Iraq.
Al-Kadhimi is supported by the status quo because he supports the status quo — the US must force change.

The US needs to assure Al-Kadhimi that it will put Baghdad in economic disfavor if it simply delays doing anything until January. Washington can set up Baghdad/Tehran bypass mechanisms to invest in Sunni, Kurdish and Shiite areas. These economic security zones can be used to deliver humanitarian aid, funds and investments to Iraqis without lining the pockets of corrupt politicians. This strategy is already being implemented in Lebanon, with systems being set up to get funds and humanitarian aid into areas where it is most needed while bypassing a corrupt government and a powerful militia tied to Tehran — Hezbollah.
American generals and government officials know that they were wrong about Al-Maliki in 2010, about Hadi Al-Amiri going back to 2003, about Abadi and Adel Abdul Madhi, about Faleh Al-Fayadh, and that they were wrong to ignore the Iran-backed militias in Iraq during the Daesh campaign. And now they are hesitant to admit that they were wrong to think a former intelligence director willing to take on Daesh would also take on the militias as prime minister.

AL-KAZEMI ANNOUNCES AN AGREEMENT WITH SALEH AND AL-HALBOUSI TO APPROVE THE ELECTION LAW IN THE FIRST UPCOMING SESSION

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi announced, on Thursday, during his meeting with members of the Electoral Commission, in the presence of a number of ministers and security leaders, on an agreement with Saleh and Al-Halbousi to approve the election law in the first upcoming session.
He indicated, “Work to find a solution soon to fill the void spaces of the Federal Court, to be prepared for a case that provides the conditions for the work of the Electoral Commission.”
He stressed the need to “look for companies that examine the election process that are sober and known for their integrity, and companies that were questioned in the last session should be avoided.” He continued, “The train wheel has set off, and we have to prepare for the elections as if they will take place tomorrow, in order to be committed to our promise that we have made. The elections are a popular demand and the demand of the rational authority, as well as the demand of the political forces, and it is unreasonable that we have a chance to succeed and waste it.”
And between “we need cooperation with the United Nations to oversee the upcoming election process to be credible.”
He pointed out the importance of “that the same previous mistakes not be repeated in the upcoming elections, and we must give citizens confidence in them.”
He said, “The ministers instructed us to respond to any book issued by the Electoral Commission within 72 hours, at the maximum level, and there must be firmness in this matter, in order to overcome the obstacles facing the election commission.”
He added, “Iraq is recovering by holding elections and introducing a government that meets the needs and needs of the people, and this is a historic responsibility.”
He noted that “the upcoming elections are pivotal elections in building Iraq, because it is the people’s demand.”
He pointed out that “THE ELECTIONS WILL BE HELD ON JUNE 6 NEXT YEAR, because it is a popular demand of the citizens, and we must work together to support these elections to advance the country, and to emerge in a new phase in the history of Iraq.”

IRAQI COALITION: AMERICA DOES NOT WANT TO WITHDRAW FROM IRAQ WITHOUT ACHIEVING ITS COMMERCIAL AND ECONOMIC GOALS
The deputy of the Iraqi coalition, Salem Tuhimer, said Thursday that the new US strategy towards Iraq seeks to ensure a longer stay in the country.
"The United States of America is using the strategy of maneuver to secure its interests for a longer period in Iraq , " Tohimer said , stressing that "Washington does not want to leave Iraq without achieving its commercial and investment goals."
He pointed out that "the Iraqi people reject the American presence and expect the negotiator to remove these forces as soon as possible."
The Supreme Commander of US forces in the Middle East, General Kenneth Mackenzie, announced that US troop levels in Iraq and Syria will likely decrease in the coming months, but he indicated that he has not yet received orders to start withdrawing forces.
(Mnt Goat – This is of course more of the Iranian backed news media in Iraq. The people of Iraq want and desire the US presence as long as they help the country move ahead. Iran wants the US out so it can play its games and use Iraq as a puppet state. They are not having their way.)

DEPUTY: PARLIAMENT WILL HOLD A SESSION NEXT WEEK TO DISCUSS FOUR "IMPORTANT AND URGENT" FILES
Representative Nada Shaker Jawdat announced today, Friday, that Parliament will hold a session next week, for the purpose of discussing four "important and urgent" files.
1)first of which is the issue of the recent serious Turkish attacks on Iraq,
2)the discussion of the economic reform paper file, which Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is supposed to present, after Parliament approved internal and external borrowing."
3)third file is the completion of voting on the election law," noting that "APPROXIMATELY 90 PERCENT OF THE ELECTION LAW HAS BEEN RESOLVED, and the remainder is only related to electoral districts, especially since disputes are still going on."
4)fourth file is to amend the Federal Court Law, for the purpose of re-activating the court's work. It is now suspended due to the lack of a quorum in it."

ABDUL LATIF: THE KUWAIT DONOR CONFERENCE IS A LIE, AND DURING IT IRAQ PAID A HEAVY PRICE
Judge and former deputy Wael Abdel-Latif, on Thursday, considered the Kuwait donor conference that it was the biggest lie in the history of Iraq , indicating that the Kuwaiti side had set it up to take a large price and Iraq paid a compelling price.
" Iraq was deceived by the Kuwait Donors Conference, and we warned against setting it up, and we said behind it another matter that Iraq will lose , and our voice was not heard, " Abdul Latif told "the information ".
He added, "Until now, IRAQ HAS NOT RECEIVED A SINGLE DINAR FROM THE KUWAIT Donor Conference," noting that "Kuwait, through the conference, took the last signatures of the map line between Iraq and Kuwait and deposited them with the United Nations to confirm what it seized from Iraqi lands at the United Nations."

With economists describing the currency auction as a “dollar depletion front and an opportunity for some banks owned by influential parties to achieve large profits,” most of the estimates talk about more than 500 billion dinars sold by the Central Bank in its continuous daily operations since 2003.
WASHINGTON AND ADJUST THE CURRENCY AUCTION
The issue of the currency auction remains a matter of questions and suspicions, especially with frequent talks about Washington’s ability to control the financial movements of the entire Central Bank of Iraq, as all major Iraqi transfers pass through the US Federal Reserve.
Close to Iran accuses the governor of the Central Bank of being an ally of the United States, given the quick response that he shows whenever decisions or sanctions are issued by the US Treasury, especially those that have targeted armed faction leaders linked to Iran.
People close to Al-Alaq reject these “allegations”, and stress that one of the central bank’s most complicated tasks is to maintain the flow of dollars into the local market and prevent problems that may cause sanctions against Iraq in the event of failure to respond.
But the issue does not appear to be limited to managing the dispute between Washington and Tehran. Many observers accuse the central bank of running a “corruption balancing act” between the United States and Iran’s allies in Iraq. What was reported by “The New York Times” in its last report, about the possibility of “American complicity” in facilitating the work of the Central Bank, was not a conversation that was heard for the first time in Iraq.
The United States is facing charges of overlooking the flow of money to Iran through Iraq. The American newspaper report says that “the US Treasury Department often turns a blind eye to money laundering operations taking place in Iraq,” while the report explicitly accuses central bank officials of colluding with companies that provide cover for the participation of terrorists in the auction.

Abdul Rahman Al-Mashhadani, a professor of political economy at the Iraqi University, said, “All financial operations of Iraq are monitored by the United States, but there is a clear overlook of them.”
It reveals “the entry of non-Iraqi banks into the currency outlet, including Lebanese and Iranian banks, which receive daily quotas estimated at 5-8 million dollars.”
He points out that “Iraq’s commercial dealings with Iran do not take place through the banking system due to the penalties imposed on it, and most transactions are done through direct payment,” indicating that “several evidences for this, including very inflated numbers regarding the import of roses, tomatoes and watermelons at inflated prices.” Exceeds Iraq’s need. ”

CURRENT STATUS OF THE REVALUATION/REINSTATEMENT OF THE IQD:
Again, I have to keep reminding everyone that the CBI has not even given any indication that they have set a time period as a target to complete or begin the project to delete the zeros. So, having said this then how can these so-called intel gurus be telling you that the reinstatement is “imminent” ? This crazy stuff. I don’t know you tell me…..
I can tell you right now, without any reservation, that you will not see a reinstatement until early January 2021 at the earliest. I only hope we don’t have to go yet another year after that even. Why?
So, let me bring you up-to-date as to why I am pushing this out until January again.
First of all, we know that January is the best time to reinstate the dinar. This is the beginning of the Iraqi fiscal year and so for accounting purposes it makes total sense and it much more straight forward.
Also, we are just about done with the summer and still they are concerned about the COVID pandemic. I expect some actions from the CBI late this fall concerning the project to delete the zeros, but only if they decide to go in January with the reinstatement. This will be our indicator of intent. Get it? No secrets here. They MUST tell the citizens of Iraq what they intend to do and can’t hide this.
Next, we have not heard anything from the CBI, as I stated above.
Next, there is still work to be done in collection of revenues from many other sectors of the economy. Coincidentally in an article today these areas of revenue generation are ALL talked about for the very first time, ALL in one article so we know they are targeting and going after these areas revenue. They have to do it. They must shift off oil production as their sole source of revenue. See the long article in the articles section of today’s newsletter.
Next, we know they must shift from a socialistic, government run country to a private, capitalistic country letting the private sector take up the slack and burden of providing salaries and pensions, also this creates yet more taxation for GOI revenues. But this is all new concepts to them and they must learn how to do it. I believe the do not have to make this shift completely to get their currency back and will actually need the currency to do it. So at what point do they make the next step?
Next, when we talk about bringing in investors and their money, we are NOT talking about a FREE ride or grants to the GOI. What we are talking about is funding for projects that will then generate income revenues for the investor, get it. I listen to some of these intel calls out there and it seems to me many have the impression that the Kuwaiti conference and th Chinese are just going to “give” billions to Iraq. Really? Instead these are Kuwaiti and Chinese entrepreneurs who want to come into Iraq build factories and establish businesses and sell products to the middle east. I know for a FACT they plan is to make Iraq the “depot” or central logistics operations center for the middle east. So this is BIG but only if realized.
Also, we know the Chinese want to come into Iraq. This move will be highly watched, scrutinized and regulated by the US in the background I can assure you. The trust between the US and China has dropped significantly since much of this corruption between US politicians is being exposed in past trade deals. This will not happen in Iraq.
Next, we come to the Iranian issue. Many of these so-called intel gurus are telling you that the US has made deals with Iran already. Really? Then why did they just recently block-aid four (4) large Iranian oil tankers and confiscate the oil? So I am sick of all these bullshit rumors. Get real!
Next, Al-Kazemi is going to use political blackmail to get his way with these crooked Iranian politicians. Once they get the judicial reforms in place and conduct the June 2021 re-elections there will be nowhere to hide. Much like the upcoming November re-elections in the US there is going to be a huge housecleaning of corruption.
Remember Al-Kazemi was head of the intelligence sector in Iraq so he knows what is going on. He has the files on all of them. In fact, he originated the files. Also, recently we find out that finally, yes finally, they have come out and told us about the US and how they too are dipping into the currency auctions and using them to steal billions from Iraq. So, it is not just Iran as we criticize. It is our own government too. Iraq is being hit from both ends. This too needs to be stopped and at least now it’s all in the open.
I certainly do not see this happening until the 2020 November elections are over. The NSA and Homeland have democrat influenced directors and will keep finding “national security” reasons for pulling the reinstatement each time the US Treasury tries to go ahead, under Steve Mnuchin. So all these banks get notices but I can assure you its going nowhere in a hurry as long and these directors are still in place. They simply refuse to signoff.
Like I said many times already that the baby is so used to sucking on its mother’s tit that it is hard to stop. It is easy money and in the billions. It is exploitation of the currency auctions.

Iraq’s Security Media Cell announced on Thursday three Katyusha rockets had fallen into Iraq’s Balad air base, 80 km (50 miles) north of the capital Baghdad, which houses U.S. forces but caused no casualties or losses.

TIME FOR US TO GET TOUGH WITH IRAQI PM AL-KAZEMI. THIS IS A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
The US should not roll out the red carpet for Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s Aug. 20 visit. Al-Kazemi should not receive praise for saying the right things — HE SHOULD BE JUDGED ON HIS ACTIONS AND INACTIONS TO DATE.
Iraq’s militias have primacy, protesters are being killed, US funds are being funneled to Iran, and Daesh is reconstituting: All under the watch of Iraq’s former intelligence director and current interim prime minister.
The “GIVE HIM TIME AND SUPPORT” argument on Iraqi officials has been popular with academia and the media since 2005. This argument has not proven effective, beginning with former PM Nouri Al-Maliki and now repeated ahead of Al-Kazemi’s visit to the US. It has led to the “forever wars” both Republicans and Democrats want to end. It is the cheerleaders, not the decision-makers in the US government, who repeat this tired old plea.
Who are the cheerleaders? THEY ARE THE EXPERTS IN THINK TANKS URGING THE US NOT TO HIT BACK AT THE MILITIAS ATTACKING IRAQIS AND AMERICANS. They are the lobbyists frantically urging more patience and more financial support, often BECAUSE THEY PROFIT FROM THE CONTINUED US PRESENCE IN IRAQ.
Saying “we need more time and more funds” is the go-to position in the Iraqi playbook, and it has been successful for 17 years. This playbook continues to outmaneuver the US State Department, Department of Defense and even the White House. It is the easiest thing for an Iraqi official to say to an American who is new to the Baghdad portfolio: “I understand, what you are asking for is difficult, I need time and more support.
Remember, the Iraqis using this playbook are the same people who have been in positions of influence ever since the 2003 invasion. The Americans they are outmaneuvering are replaced every six months to two years — they have seen 17 iterations of Americans and the playbook serves the patient Iraqi chess player very well.
This approach led to Al-Maliki’s dismantling of the gains of the 2007 surge and allowed spaces in disenfranchised Sunni areas that were void of a security force willing to protect the Iraqi people to grow an existential threat in Daesh.
It led to Haider Abadi’s failed 2018 election campaign and a victory for Qassem Soleimani’s militias in Iraq. It led to the killing campaign against Iraqi protesters and the condemnation of a US retaliatory strike against Kata’ib Hezbollah after a missile and rocket attack killed Nawres Hamad, an American-Iraqi translator.
This argument also led to militias walking into the Green Zone and attacking the US Embassy, Soleimani’s death, and ended the reign of Iraq’s de facto prime minister Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, passing it onto the new leader of Kata’ib Hezbollah, Abu Fadak. The latter has more power than the prime minister and this is why the US must insist that Al-Kadhimi takes on Iran’s militias.
Iraq watchers that say Al-Kadhimi cannot do anything without US support are missing the fact that the prime minister does not want to take on the militias. Sure, he has ordered a couple of raids and then released those captured within 24 to 72 hours, but Al-Kadhimi wants the US to ignore the militias and continue its funding stream to a corrupt Baghdad. Al-Kadhimi is supported by the status quo because he supports the status quo — the US must force change.
The goal of Al-Kadhimi’s visit is to ask the US for more patience and financial aid. He needs to keep Iraq in the US’ economic favor for Iran’s sake. If Iraq’s economy is made toxic, Tehran can no longer benefit from the most profitable lifeline it currently has.
Al-Kadhimi, the Council of Representatives and lobbyists and experts who wear think tank hats to urge US decision-makers to stay in Iraq are waiting for the outcome of November’s election — they want Joe Biden to win. Iran and its government in Iraq believe a Biden victory would benefit the Islamic Republic and the violent supporters of Velayat-e Faqih that make up the regime’s political parties and militias across the region.
If Donald Trump wins, Iran and Iraq will have to make concessions. If Biden wins, they will let out a sigh of relief, but they will still have to wait out Trump until Jan. 20. Trump will continue to sanction Iran and look at doing the same to Iraqi individuals and entities until the day he leaves office in an attempt to make it harder for an incoming President Biden to unravel his sanctions regime. And, if the Biden camp is smart, Trump’s sanctions will actually strengthen its negotiating position with Iran and the Iraqi government.
Success for Baghdad and success for Iraq are two very different things. Iraqis want the US to use economic and military tools to deal with Iran’s hold over Baghdad. In order to save Iraq, the US must disfavor Baghdad. It is for this reason that the White House should threaten to impose sanctions and designate Iraqi militia leaders, political leaders and members of Iraq’s security forces unless benchmarks are met ahead of the Nov. 3 US election. This is exactly what Iraqis are asking the US to do: Stop facilitating Iran’s takeover of Iraq, go after the militias, and support Iraqis over Baghdad.
The demands should include: The detention or stripping of citizenship of Abu Fadak, Qais Khazali, Akram Al-Kaabi, and Shibl Al-Zaydi; all government officials involved in the killing of protesters should be named and indicted; Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi should be defunded, demobilized and disarmed; and a recruitment campaign to attract 30,000 Sunnis into positions in the Iraqi Army and national police must be started.
Lebanon’s government this week resigned due to pressure from the Lebanese people and the international community. This shows how the international media spotlight can force change. The US is in a position to move that spotlight onto Baghdad’s corruption. We will have to watch Lebanon closely as there are many parallels in Iraq.
Al-Kadhimi is supported by the status quo because he supports the status quo — the US must force change.

The US needs to assure Al-Kadhimi that it will put Baghdad in economic disfavor if it simply delays doing anything until January. Washington can set up Baghdad/Tehran bypass mechanisms to invest in Sunni, Kurdish and Shiite areas. This strategy is already being implemented in Lebanon, with systems being set up to get funds and humanitarian aid into areas where it is most needed while bypassing a corrupt government and a powerful militia tied to Tehran — Hezbollah.
American generals and government officials know that they were wrong about Al-Maliki in 2010, about Hadi Al-Amiri going back to 2003, about Abadi and Adel Abdul Madhi, about Faleh Al-Fayadh, and that they were wrong to ignore the Iran-backed militias in Iraq during the Daesh campaign. And now they are hesitant to admit that they were wrong to think a former intelligence director willing to take on Daesh would also take on the militias as prime minister.

WASHINGTON AND ADJUST THE CURRENCY AUCTION
The issue of the currency auction remains a matter of questions and suspicions, especially with frequent talks about Washington’s ability to control the financial movements of the entire Central Bank of Iraq, as all major Iraqi transfers pass through the US Federal Reserve.
Close to Iran accuses the governor of the Central Bank of being an ally of the United States, given the quick response that he shows whenever decisions or sanctions are issued by the US Treasury, especially those that have targeted armed faction leaders linked to Iran.

CURRENCY AUCTION AND CHALABI “KILLED”
The opening of suspicions about the currency auction dates back to previous years, when the late head of the Iraqi Parliament’s Finance Committee, Ahmed Chalabi, presented files related to corruption in the currency auction in 2015, and as a result, the Supreme Judicial Council formed a judicial investigative body, and a statement by the Council said on November 10 (November). He added to “The Independent Arabia”: “Commercial banks submit a request to buy dollars for their customers according to documents and import licenses submitted later, and based on the bank’s controls to verify the integrity of the funds with no suspicions of money laundering or terrorist financing, the Central Bank receives the dinar from the bank and deposits the amount in dollars. In his favor with the exporter’s private bank, adding that after a period the commercial bank submits a report to the bank on the import process.
And while he indicated that “suspicions related to non-entry of goods in exchange for money sold by the central bank are related to other departments,” he pointed out that “the investigation function belongs to important institutions including the customs authority, the Ministry of Trade that gives import licenses, and the General Tax Authority that has a tax office in the customs.”
He pointed out that “the most important manipulation takes place at the border outlets, where some employees force the customer to reduce the recorded imported quantities,” noting that this process leads to “the corrupt obtaining four times what the state gets through customs duties,” expressing his hope That “the Ports Authority shall monitor and control the violations and the processes of changing the identity of imported goods.”
RESPONSIBILITY OF “SECTORAL ENTITIES”
Official and press reports circulated huge numbers regarding Iraq’s import of goods that exceed the limits of its need, while official documents show that some of these imported materials have doubled up to a thousand times over what Iraq had imported in previous years, including the import of tomatoes from Iran in 2017, worth 1.66 billion dollars.
In the context, Shamran points out that “the bank is not specialized in assessing Iraq’s need for the materials to be imported, which is the responsibility of the sectoral authorities and according to which the bank deals”, indicating that “the authority that issues import licenses is the one that determines the country’s need for the commodity to be imported, and the Central Bank has no responsibility for Determining the country’s needs to link this with its sales, “explaining that” Iraq suffers from the absence of a national information system. ”
He pointed out that Iraq used to link most of the imports with the subject of “estimating the need for imports,” and in light of which an import license is issued from the Ministry of Trade, and based on the license, the Central transfers funds, but they stopped after 2003. ”
And Shamran added, “Transfer operations in the central bank are very strict and under the supervision of the US Federal Reserve Bank, which has strict rules in tracking money, as well as the Anti-Money Laundering Office. We have imposed on banks to activate reporting units for money laundering and terrorist financing operations,” adding “stories Corruption can be believed if the central bank carries money on its side and gives it to merchants directly and not through this complex network. ”
On the importance of the window for selling the dollar, Shamran said that it “funds the needs of Iraq from the importer as well as financing the needs of the Ministry of Finance of Iraqi cash.”
He concluded that “the accusations received against the bank by deputies and officials affect confidence in state institutions and waste their reputation, and this harms Iraq and removes foreign investment opportunities.”
GIVEN AUTHORITY WITHOUT ABILTY TO USE IT
As for the representative of the Finance Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, Ahmed Hama Rashid, he says that “the majority of the committee members agree that the currency auction is a great suspicion of corruption.”
He continues, “The prime minister’s pledges to control outlets, dismantle the power of some financial factions, activate industry and fight corruption, are directly related to the issue of currency auction,” noting that “it has become a public opinion issue and one of the factors that shatter the economy.”
He points out that “there is a blackout on this issue, and the central bank’s response to questions about the currency auction does not go beyond the data limits, and the legislative authority is not efficient in this area.”
He concludes that “there are no tools available to solve the auction problem except through the cooperation of the Central Bank, and Parliament or the Council of Ministers cannot solve it due to the independence of the monetary authority.”
CURRENCY AUCTION AND CHALABI “KILLED”
The opening of suspicions about the currency auction dates back to previous years, when the late head of the Iraqi Parliament’s Finance Committee, Ahmed Chalabi, presented files related to corruption in the currency auction in 2015, and as a result, the Supreme Judicial Council formed a judicial investigative body, and a statement by the Council said on November 10 (November). The second) of the same year, he decided to form a judicial investigative body to look into the documents submitted by Chalabi, explaining that “the documents are related to money laundering and foreign currency smuggling cases bought from the Iraqi Central Bank auction.”
The statement stated that “the investigative body is made up of the judges of the Integrity and Economic Crime Investigation Court, and that the public prosecution will appear before the investigative body to express its requests and follow-up, and this decision will be implemented as of 11/10/2015.”
The Iraqi Integrity Commission issued a statement on December 11, 2019, talking about the details of the penal cases related to the “currency auction” file, where it said that “among these cases are major corruption cases in the work of a private bank and indicators of cases of smuggling foreign currency outside Iraq. By the bank buying foreign currency for the benefit of companies claiming to import goods, “noting that upon investigation and scrutiny, it was found that” these companies have not imported goods into Iraq since 2004. ”
The department explained that “THE CASES INCLUDED FRAUD BY SOME GOVERNMENTAL AND PRIVATE BANKS, ENTERING THE AUCTION OF SELLING CURRENCY IN THE NAMES OF COMPANIES AND PRIVATE ACCOUNT HOLDERS WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE, SUBMITTING FORGED IMPORT INVOICES, as well as violating the Central Bank’s instructions when entering the auction in accordance with the provisions of Article 3 of the Money Laundering Law.” No. 93 of 2004. ”
Iraqi politician Laith Shubbar said in a series of tweets on Twitter, “Yesterday, I received from the famous journalist, ROBERT WORTH, AUTHOR OF THE ARTICLE ON IRAQ UNDER THE RULE OF THIEVES, THE COMPLETE FILE PREPARED BY AHMED CHALABI ABOUT THE CORRUPTION OF THE SALE OF CURRENCY IN THE CENTRAL BANK, WHICH ENDED WITH HIS DEATH and the closure of the file permanently.”
He added, “I SPENT TWO HOURS READING IT AND CAME TO THE COMPLETE CONVICTION THAT THE FIRST HEAD OF CORRUPTION IS THIS DANGEROUS SUSPICIOUS AUCTION.” He explained that “the file of corruption that I received from the currency auction that is held daily by the Central Bank is frightening and dangerous, and because of it, Chalabi was assassinated.”
He pointed out that “there is no doubt that the file has existed for years in the Integrity Commission, and the names mentioned in this file are still arriving and wandering. SOME OF THEM EVEN FOUNDED A PARTY AND BECAME A DEPUTY AFTER SPENDING MILLIONS, BUT THE HEADS LIE AND DENY THERE IS A PROBLEM.”

To end the corona virus “man-made crisis” and to awaken people everywhere of the dark side and the tools it will use to gain power and control.
