Engineers strike!
Many engineers in Iraq complain about the state's contracting with them.
The state grants informal and temporary contracts for paid work, and these contracts are free from labor rights stipulated in the Iraqi Labor Law, such as: social security, retirement, nprotection and safety during the work, holidays, and their working hours are very long..etc
This labor policy is completely in line with the neoliberal policy,
whereby the state is lifted from its responsibility towards the workers, and the workers are burdened by the economic crises and working without any protection.
Today, engineers in the oil fields and other places are forming committees to organize themselves, making workers' strikes, they are trying to meet some officials, including the prime minister, in order to solve their case.
