On Tuesday, the Iraqi presidency and parliament condemned in the strongest terms the Turkish attack by drone on the border area of ​​Sidekan, which resulted in the killing of the commander of the second brigade in the first region in the leadership of the border guards and the commander of the third regiment, and the injury of the commander of the first regiment, an intelligence officer and two of their accompanying associates.


In a statement , the Iraqi presidency spokesman considered that the repeated Turkish military breaches of Iraqi lands are a serious violation of Iraq's sovereignty, calling for the cessation of all military operations that would prejudice good-neighborly relations, and to rely on dialogue and understanding to solve border problems between the two neighboring countries.


Earlier Tuesday, the Iraqi army announced the killing of two border guard officers in an air strike, launched by a Turkish drone on vehicles belonging to the military institution, near the town of Sidakan, northeast of Erbil.


For his part, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Karim Al-Kaabi said that the Turkish attacks are a flagrant violation of all principles of the United Nations Charter, international laws and relevant Security Council resolutions.


Al-Kaabi called on the UN Security Council to urgently intervene to stop the Turkish violations.


Al-Kaabi called on the government to summon the Turkish ambassador and deliver him a strongly worded protest message, stressing that the recurrence of Turkish violations is a flagrant violation of all the principles of the United Nations Charter, international laws and relevant Security Council resolutions, calling on the UN Security Council to intervene urgently to stop the repeated violations and to affirm respect for the principles of good neighborliness.



And Baghdad has twice summoned the Turkish ambassador to protest against the Ankara raids on its territory.

Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein made several contacts with his Arab counterparts against the background of the blatant Turkish attack that caused the death of two Iraqi army officers and soldiers who were carrying out a mission to establish security on the border strip with the Turkish side. And by a drone in the Sidekan area of ​​Erbil, Kurdistan.
