MP Burhan Al-Maamouri attributed on Monday 10/8/2020 the reluctance of housing projects in all governorates to untrained companies and an investment-deterrent environment.

Al-Mamouri said in a statement: The Parliamentary Services and Construction Committee held a meeting in the presence of the directors of planning, housing and investment at the Ministry of Construction and Housing to discuss the housing situation in the country, indicating the importance of finding appropriate ways to reduce this crisis, which continues to multiply day after day.

Al-Mamouri added: The population growth and the increase in the number of Iraqi families coincided with an almost complete cessation of housing projects, as well as the presence of a number of lagging ministerial projects, pointing out that these projects remained ink on paper and did not see the light despite the allocation of funds and the preparation of appropriate logistics for them.

MP Burhan Al-Mamouri also clarified that the country today needs no less than (3) million housing units to solve the housing crisis throughout the governorates, attributing at the same time the reluctance to occur to the lack of a real will to end the housing crisis and to contract with companies that are not sober, high-bureaucratic and a repellent environment. To invest.

Al-Mamouri stressed: The solution to the housing crisis in Iraq needs a courageous government decision to pave the way for major foreign companies to invest in the field of housing and provide the necessary facilities to enable them to operate smoothly, noting that investing with international companies is the only solution to eliminate the housing crisis and operate The largest number of manpower.
