The complex circumstances that Iraq is going through still cast a shadow over the issue of attracting the investments it needs to get out of its financial and service crises, as the country needs billions of dollars in investments to advance destroyed infrastructure.

Will low oil prices create an attractive investment environment?
On this topic, the guest of the "Iraqi Concerns" program on the radio "Sputnik", the oil expert Hamza Al-Jawahiri, says:
"Iraq is an environment that expels investment, because of the widespread corruption in all institutions, as well as the existence of a deep state that has loyalties to countries that want Iraq to remain a market for them, so you find that the factories are stalled in the country."
Al-Jawahiri continued by saying, "The demand for energy will increase, and expectations indicate that the price of a barrel of oil will reach the threshold of fifty dollars, but investment in Iraq is low, even in the period of high oil prices."
Al-Jawahiri added, "The Iraqi government is working to reassure investors, and is trying to overcome all obstacles that stand in their way, just as it is trying to protect the national product that is emerging in the market, and foreign investment in Iraq has started through loans."
