The District Commissioner of Al-Qa’im District, Al-Anbar Governorate, Ahmed Al-Mahlawi, stated on Friday that the Al-Qa’im border crossing with Syria recorded a recovery in trade exchange for the first time since the introduction of the Corona measures.
Al-Mahlawi said in a press interview that "the Al-Qa’im border crossing with Syria, west of Anbar, registered for the first time since the Corona procedures began a commercial movement represented by the entry of dozens of trucks loaded with goods to the square of commercial exchange in the district of Al-Qaim near the border with Syria."
He added that “the recovery of the commercial reality with Syria came against the background of the reopening of the commercial exchange yard between the two countries where Syrian truck drivers are not allowed to move between Iraqi provinces and unload all goods inside the commercial exchange yard and then Iraqi trucks transport them to the relevant authorities, indicating that” this The procedure comes to avoid the transmission of the Coronavirus from one country to another with the Coronavirus.
He explained that "the high frequency of commercial exchange with Syria is due to the relaxation of the precautionary measures applied to truck drivers by the Syrian side, not to mention that the strict medical examination procedures from both sides are still tight."
