What does it hold for the Syrians? The US State Department's report praises Saudi Arabia's fight against terrorism and a strategic partnership in the hilarious Pompeo talks.

After their meeting in Baghdad, the Jordanian and Iraqi foreign ministers talk about subsequent meetings that include Egypt

We start from Baghdad, from which Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi confirmed , yesterday, Wednesday, his country's support for Iraq in combating terrorism and reconstruction, while Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein announced that he discussed with his counterpart the possibility of holding subsequent tripartite joint talks that include Cairo, Amman and Baghdad.

This came during a joint press conference held by the two ministers in Baghdad in which Safadi said that "Jordan continues to cooperate with Iraq in various fields, especially security, in addition to cooperation in the industrial, economic, and energy fields."

On this issue, Iraqi political analyst Abbas Al-Ardawi said that the Iraqi-Jordanian talks are a continuation of the relations between the two sides, as the Iraqi side wanted to open economic tracks with the Jordanian side, which requires the creation of some border outlets that were severely damaged by terrorist gangs.

Al-Ardawi clarified that there are some terrorist pockets that exist in a common land between Iraq and Jordan and need to be secured for a joint security effort.

Brussels Conference on Syria ... What does it hold for the Syrians?

And in Brussels, the European Union is currently hosting the fourth edition of the Fourth Brussels Conference, known as the conference "Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region" , which is organized by the Union in cooperation with the United Nations.

A statement issued by the Office of the High Representative for Security and Foreign Policy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, said that the conference will take place between June 22-30 this year through video communication technology.

This meeting comes in light of the European Union renewing the economic sanctions imposed on the Syrian state, as well as under the American Caesar Law.

From Brussels, the political analyst specializing in European Union affairs, Warda Ghanem, said, "The European Union aims, from behind the donors conference on Syria, to re-motivate the international community to contribute to solving the Syrian crisis."

Ghanem said during her talk to "Sputnik" that the European Union does not have any authority to work towards a political solution but rather contributes in one way or another to the deterioration of the Syrian situation by tightening its sanctions on Syria for a year, nor did he move when the United States imposed the Caesar Law, adding that the union The European is trying to mobilize the international community for Syria in order to contribute to the financing of projects for the benefit of Syrian refugees outside Syria, where the Union is trying to relieve itself of responsibility for what the Syrians are living in.

The political analyst specialized in European Union affairs stressed that Europe does not count much on financial support from this conference, expressing its belief in the failure of the conference as every year the European Union organizes conferences in favor of Syria and announces funds that do not reach the Syrians at least outside Syria and politicized Objectives.

The US State Department report praises Saudi Arabia's fight against terrorism and a strategic partnership in the Farhan-Pompeo talks

A report by the US State Department confirmed that Saudi Arabia continues to work to prevent the financing of terrorism and to combat extremist ideology and has taken strict measures against terrorist organizations, indicating that Riyadh is a key partner of the United States in the international coalition against ISIS (banned in Russia).

The Foreign Ministry added in a report on terrorism that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confronted the terrorism of "Al Qaeda" and "ISIS" and the Houthi militias, noting that the Kingdom remained an effective partner in the international coalition against the terrorist organization "ISIS".

This comes as Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed with his American counterpart Mike Pompeo on Wednesday the strategic partnership between the two countries, and regional and international issues of concern.

On this issue, the vice-president of the Arab Center for Political and Strategic Studies, Dr. Mukhtar Ghobashi, said, "The relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States is an old, fundamental, and strategic relationship, and it goes beyond combating terrorism. An essential component of oil price stability.

He stressed, Ghobashi, that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia made great efforts in the field of combating terrorism, noting that the American military bases in the Kingdom formed a very large protection factor.

JORDANIAN ENERGY MINISTER: WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION WITH 4 COUNTRIES

-09/07/2020

Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein meets his Jordanian counterpart in Baghdad Download-5

Jordanian Energy Minister Hala Zawati affirmed her country's intention to generate about half of the electrical energy from local sources within ten years, stressing the importance of electrical interconnection projects with neighboring countries Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Palestine, and strengthening the existing interconnection with Egypt, as well as interconnecting with the Gulf network.

Minister Zawati explained in an interview with “Al Arabiya” the details of Jordan’s plan to expand renewable energy sources and oil production from oil shale, which she described as one of the costly projects that require funding estimated at about $ 2.5 billion, and that financing is feasible for companies, at prices above the level of $ 40 per barrel Oil globally.

She stated that Jordan aims to generate 31% of electricity from renewable sources by 2030, noting that there are 21 blocks of oil shale in the Kingdom.

She explained that Jordan adopted a 10-year plan to expand renewable energy sources and produce shale oil that would reduce dependence on costly foreign fuel imports that burden its economy and push it towards self-sufficiency.

She said that by 2030, 48.5% of the country's electricity generation in the "Energy Sector Strategy 2020 - 2030, which was approved by the government and unveiled on Tuesday, will come from local energy sources." The percentage is currently only 15%.

Zawati said that the kingdom will gradually reduce dependence on imported natural gas for its power plants by expanding shale oil production, including committing a multi-billion dollar project this year, along with the capacity to generate electricity from renewable sources linked to the network.

It also affirmed that Jordan will reduce imported fuel and increase domestic energy sources in a bid to achieve self-sufficiency.

Jordan currently imports more than 93% of its total energy supplies and weighs an annual bill of 2.5 billion dinars (3.5 billion dollars), which constitutes approximately 8% of the Kingdom's GDP and puts pressure on its economy.
