Finance Minister - International Monetary expressed willingness to support Iraq and discussions next week[Baghdad-Ain]
The Minister of Finance, Ali Abdul Amir Alawi, announced positive discussions between the Emergency Cell for Financial Reform and the International Monetary Fund.
Allawi said that “the IMF has indicated its willingness to provide support to Iraq and the Iraqi team will follow up with the fund discussions next week.”

Oil expert - Iraq can become a strong economic country without exporting a single barrelThe oil expert, Hamza Al-Jawahiri, stressed on Saturday that Iraq can be an economically strong country without the need to export one barrel, pointing to the country’s ability to achieve resources without selling crude oil.

Al-Jawahiri said in a press statement that “Iraq can be an economically strong country without the need to export one barrel.”
Noting that “Iraq can achieve resources without selling crude oil in excess of its need for oil and budgets without a fiscal deficit.”
He added, “Oil and gas are devoted mainly to manufacturing, energy industries and all types of sustainable development, which in turn will reduce unemployment and disguised unemployment and provide the state and the private sector with very large financial resources that increase with time, provided that the hands that extend to them are cut badly.”
