[rtl]Nouri Al-Maliki: The Kuwaitis told me not to get involved in buying American fighters[/rtl]
- June 17, 2020

Former Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki blamed the United States of America for the disruption in the structure of the Iraqi army.
Maliki said in a television interview with Al-Iraqiya TV that "the American weapon is a political weapon," reviewing the many requests to request military support for the Iraqi army from the United States without success.
Al-Maliki indicated during the meeting that during a visit to Kuwait, he met the former Prime Minister who asked him about the intention of buying American F-16 fighters, and we advised him by saying: “Do not get involved in buying them, we bought F-18 fighters and we did not use them, but every month They ask us to pay a million and more under the heading of maintenance and sustainability, although we do not use these fighters, and finally I told them we do not want them, take them and consider them a donation from us. ”
Al-Maliki added that the former Kuwaiti Prime Minister said, "They do not support you, nor give you weapons or missiles."
