Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed that Iraq supports Arab and Islamic efforts to address the threats of the Israeli occupation to annex parts of the Palestinian territories, including: the West Bank, the Jordan Valley, and the northern Dead Sea, among others.
The Minister started his speech by condemning these threats, stressing the importance of uniting efforts to take action on the international community to confront them. Because it undermines the rights of our people in Palestine, threatens international peace and security, and violates the purposes of the United Nations.
This came in a speech delivered by the minister at the virtual extraordinary meeting through a closed television circuit at the level of foreign ministers of the OIC countries.
The Minister concluded his speech by saying: Iraq stresses its permanent and firm stance towards the Palestinian issue, and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
Expressing Iraq's support for the decision issued on September 15, 2019 by the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Member States, which stipulated to address these threats, and to take all political and legal steps to confront them in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy.
