Iraq tops the list of countries importing electricity from Iran

Iran's exports of electrical energy to neighboring countries recorded 27.6 percent growth in the fiscal year ending March 19, 2020 on an annual basis, while Iraq tops the list of importing countries, according to what Fars announced.
The company "Satkap" to manage the manufacture and provision of water and electrical goods today, Monday, that exports exceeded 8 billion kilowatt hours in the mentioned year, and were supplied to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan.
She noted that Iraq acquired 6 billion and 652 million kilowatt hours of electricity from Iran, with a growth of 36 percent on an annual basis, followed by Afghanistan with 775 million, Pakistan with 516 million, Armenia with 53 million and Nakhchivan with 33 million kilowatt hours.
The total electrical energy exported from Iran to these countries reached 8.031 billion kilowatts, a growth of 1.736 billion kilowatt hours over the previous fiscal year.
Thus, the proportion of Iraq from Iran's electricity exports recorded 82.7 percent, Afghanistan 9.7 percent, Pakistan 6.4 percent and Armenia 0.7 percent.
In return, Iran imported about 3.329 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the fiscal year ending March 19, 2020, as Armenia exported 1.294 billion kilowatt hours to Iran.
