05/16/2020
On Saturday 5/6/2020, Representative Jamal Al-Mahmoudawi called for the retirement of the salaries of the retirees with the Ministry of Electricity in the form of daily wages and not to reduce them due to violations of the decisions of the Council of Ministers and the Labor Law. Calling for their salaries to be included in the 2020 budget.
Al-Muhammaddawi said: A large group of contractors with the Ministry of Electricity in the form of daily wages did not pay their salaries regularly, while these salaries are reduced in an unfair and unlawful manner.
The deputy added that the most important violations in this regard are a violation of Ministerial Order No. 43,426, which is condoned on the letter of the Prime Minister’s Office, No. 172, which provides for calculating the wages of workers as a daily wage contract (16,000) dinars (30) days.
Al-Muhammadawi added that delaying the payment of salaries is contrary to Labor Law No. 37 of 2015 Article (53 / Third), which stipulates that wages are paid at the end of each month, provided that the maximum delay is a period of (5) days.
Jamal al-Muhammadawi called on the Prime Minister to include the salaries of contractors with the Ministry of Electricity in the form of daily wages within the 2020 budget, and to consider the reasons for delaying the payment of their salaries for previous months and to open an investigation into legal violations related to reducing their wages, especially as they were contracted within the reform package.
