Communications Minister Naeem Al-Rubaie revealed, on Wednesday, the proximity of providing Internet service through the fourth generation technology, in light of the increase in applications that need large capacities.

Al-Rubaie said in a press interview followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the ministry has collected random questionnaires from citizens and is currently analyzed by the customer service department in the company to determine the deficient companies and held meetings with a number of Internet towers owners because they are in direct contact with the citizen to find out the reasons for the poor service Introduction".

He added, “The Ministry found that there are several reasons, including those related to ISP companies, as the topic requires companies to purchase more capacities and equip and expand their systems to cover market demand, including related to the origin of the topic, which is the technology used which is the WiFi technology that does not meet the demands with the increasing applications that need Capacities. ”

He disclosed, "The Ministry resorted to obtaining a license to provide fixed internet service via the fourth generation LTE technology, as this will be done soon, in addition to continuing to complete the infrastructure to deliver Internet service to homes via optical cable and operating projects that are currently ready, such as the Baghdad project funded by the Japanese loan."
