Electricity attributes the decline in processing hours to targeting transmission lines
Electricity attributes the decline in processing hours to targeting transmission lines

06/05/2020

Economy News - Baghdad:
The Ministry of Electricity attributed the decline in processing hours to targeting a terrorist systematically for power transmission lines, while indicating that there is coordination to monitor transport routes with thermal cameras and flying .
Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Abadi said that targeting electricity transmission lines and towers with improvised explosive devices had a negative impact on the hours of electricity supply .
He added that targeting the governing and strategic lines that carry electrical energy (the martyr Abdullah in Samarra, east of Baghdad and Mersad east of Diyala) led to determining the loads on the side of Karkh from Baghdad, east of Rusafa and northeastern Rusafa, as well as determining the loads of the provinces of Diyala, Salahuddin, Nineveh, Kirkuk and even Anbar as a result of losing nearly "2000" MW of power .
He continued that the Ministry's staff managed to transfer energy from the central and northern area to mobilize to the scene of the accident and after the detection it was revealed that a group of towers had fallen as a result of the explosive devices, indicating that “the Ministry's staff and in cooperation with the military sectors and the popular crowd were able to build the towers and return those lines to what they were and enter them To work ».
He pointed out that terrorist groups once again targeted a group of main lines by detonating explosive devices for the Kirkuk line and the Mersad Diyala line, which led to his departure from service and that targeting these lines may separate the northern region from the central region .
He added that the increase in production carried out by the generation plants is being discharged through the lines that carry electrical energy, stressing that compensating these areas is difficult and there may be alternative feeding, but this feeding is temporary .
Al-Abadi pointed out that these sabotage operations targeting the power lines came as a result of responding to the success achieved by the Ministry of Electricity in supplying integrated hours to all governorates of Iraq by 24 hours and that the energy transfer staff and the owners of the Ministry of Electricity are working hard as the first service line in sustaining the momentum of work in power stations The power transmission lines as well as the distribution networks, and consequently, the lines of the Ministry today are still continuing to address these
The explosions .
Al-Abadi said that there is coordination with the military sectors, operations command, and the popular crowd to monitor the tracks of the towers, transfer energy, and monitor them with thermal cameras, flying planes, and bolts that are at different distances for the towers to limit the bombing operations that target the infrastructure of the transmission lines .

And on the news that talked about delivering $ 400 million of electricity to the Iranian side in exchange for an agreement to import gas, Al-Abadi said, "This news is not true," noting that "Iraq handed the Iranian side $ 400 million through the Ministry of Finance, not electricity, as dues Previous debts, not for the purpose of the new agreement. The deputy in the Iraqi parliament, Dhafer Al-Ani, welcomed the formation of the committee, and said that it is the right of people to know where the huge amounts of money spent on electricity went and are still suffering darkness, vigor and disease.
Iraqis questioned the feasibility of forming the Parliamentary Committee, and said that these committees had been formed in the past and remained ink on paper without tangible impact on the ground.
Member of Parliament Alia Nassif stressed the need for Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to "remove the corrupt hands from the Siemens agreement," saying that expelling what she called "the controlling gang" on the electricity file for years is the first step in the solution.
Nassif said in a statement, commenting on Al-Kazemi’s directives issued during the meeting held yesterday to activate all electricity projects, especially the agreement concluded with Siemens, according to its media office, “The Prime Minister’s personal supervision of the electricity file is a good gesture that may help put an end to all of those The years of failure and corruption in the electricity sector, but he must rely on clean tools in dealing with this file and not using the same people who were part of the problem over the past years, and we have talked in TV statements and dialogues about some of the corrupt, veteran corrupt who were and are still the cause of destruction Desolation, theft and fraud in the electricity sector.
Nassif stressed the necessity for the Prime Minister to "remove the corrupt hands from the Siemens agreement," noting that "activating this agreement with the same gang that includes (R), (AK) and (N) means that nothing will be accomplished except Wasting public money and getting gang members getting millions of dollars by obtaining all the secondary contracts.
She added, “(R.H.) is the plan to refer the installed Al-Anbar station, accompanied by (SH) to a company called (Metka Overseas), whose name resembles the name of the Greek giant Matka Company, and after the referral they sold the contract to the Chinese (Seiko 3) company by a difference.” An amount of 350 million dollars, and the information can be verified by requesting entry characteristics to Iraq and visas for experts and workers that entered in the beginning, all of them are Chinese and there is no Greek. By discharging its materials to Iraq, and the corrupt received their commissions, without accomplishing anything.
Nassif continued, "The expulsion of the gang that has controlled the electricity file for years is the first step in the solution, after which it is possible to directly activate the agreements and implement projects and restore what these thieves destroyed." He called on the Integrity Commission to "adopt all of its data as official intelligence", and expressed "its willingness to come to Commission.
According to the Ministry of Electricity, Iraq's production of electrical energy is 13 thousand and 500 megawatts, and Iraq plans to add 3 thousand and 500 megawatts this year by introducing new obstetric units into service, while consumption exceeds 20 thousand.
The suffering of the Iraqis increases in the various governorates of Iraq, especially in the summer season when temperatures exceed 50 degrees Celsius due to the poor access to electrical energy to homes.

Information / translation ...
A report of the British Middle East newspaper revealed that the United States is pressing to push Iraq to connect its electrical network to the Gulf states by praising the deal that links Iraq to six Gulf countries and its plans to increase electricity supply in Iraq significantly while dealing with the shortage.
The report, translated by Information Agency, stated that "an agreement is under way between Washington and Baghdad and six Gulf countries to link the Iraqi electricity networks to the network of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, nearly a year after the start of the plan."
The US State Department said in a statement that "the six countries that constitute the interconnection commission for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and the UAE confirmed their joint support for a project to supply electricity to Iraq."
"In another step for the American pressure on Iraq , Washington expressed its support and aspiration to increase close economic cooperation and energy between the United States, Iraq and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as a basis for peace, development and prosperity in the region," the report added.
"The United States is committed to facilitating the project and providing support when needed," the statement said, noting that "the United States has a politically motivated interest in the electricity shortage in Iraq because the country relies heavily on neighboring Iran for its energy."
The report continued that "US sanctions prevent the rest of the countries from purchasing Iranian energy, so Iraq had to request exemptions from Washington every few months to continue its imports without inciting the wrath of the United States."
And the report stated that, "Despite the Gulf Cooperation Council plan and the expiry date of the current exemption in next September, Iran announced last month that it had signed a two-year contract to export energy to Iraq , and it is expected to give Baghdad an immediate boost." Ended / 25 z
