Baghdad / Nina / The World Bank agreed today, Thursday, to $ 1.9 billion in initial emergency funding to support the response to the emerging corona virus in 25 countries, adding that it is moving quickly with regard to projects in 40 other countries.

In addition, the bank indicated that it is working to redistribute resources in projects it is already financing, amounting to approximately $ 1.7 billion.

The World Bank has said it is ready to spend up to $ 160 billion over the next 15 months to fight the virus.

India, Asia's third largest economy, will receive $ 1 billion of what was approved today, Thursday, to support better virus testing, contact testing, laboratory diagnostics, access to personal protective equipment and the establishment of new isolation departments for those infected. / End 8
