Urgent: The Quartet fails to agree on a candidate for prime minister, and Iraq will enter again into a constitutional vacuum

Baghdad / Al-Akhbariyah:
An informed political source revealed, on Monday, the failure of the Shi’ite Quartet to agree on the name of the next prime minister candidate, while the source indicated that the Quartet agreed to resolve the file after March 24 this year.

The source told "Al-Ikhbaria" that "the Seven Committee of the Shiite forces objected to the nomination of Naeem Al-Suhail, while the head of the Hadi al-Amiri Alliance re-presented Ali Shukri as prime minister."

He added that "the blocs agreed to postpone the selection of the government candidate until March 24 to give it more time to consult with the Sunni and Kurdish political forces."

the ole kicking the can down the road again. it would be nice to have the Iraqis  vote for one of their own but this can never happen so sad
