The head of the caretaker government, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, stressed today, Monday, the need to implement the parliament’s decision to withdraw foreign forces from Iraq.

A statement issued by Abdul-Mahdi's office, received by Al-Akhbaria, said, "The latter received the American ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Toller, and the developments of events and the position of the Iraqi government were reviewed."

The statement added, "Abdul-Mahdi assured the ambassador of the need for joint action to implement the withdrawal of foreign forces in accordance with the decision of the Iraqi parliament and to put relations with the United States on sound foundations," stressing "the seriousness of the current situation and its possible repercussions, and that Iraq is making every effort to prevent the slide of war Open. "

And Abdul-Mahdi pointed out, according to the statement, to "the steadfast policy pursued by the government to establish relations with all and not to enter into the policy of the axes and that the strength of the Iraqi government is in the interest of all," stressing "Iraq’s keenness that its relations be based on cooperation and mutual respect and preserving its security, stability and national sovereignty ".
