US Deputy Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs: Sanctions for repressing Iraqis and looting their money

Iran's deputy Revolutionary Guards commander Qasem Soleimani is the main source of terrorism, US Deputy Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Joey Hood said on Wednesday, accusing him of pressuring politicians in Iraq.
The US official, who had previously served as consul in Erbil and Baghdad in charge of the charge d'affaires, told a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the situation in Iraq and Lebanon that the administration of President Donald Trump is committed to supporting the Iraqi people and will not hesitate to impose sanctions on those who repress him. He looted his money.
The United States has provided more than $ 2 billion in aid to the Iraqi people, Hood said.
Since the outbreak of anti-power protests and currents and political and religious parties accused of corruption in Iraq more than two months ago, Suleimani has had frequent visits to the country where he participated in meetings with officials.
The Iranian regime, which has realized that the Iraqi demonstrations threaten its interests, influence and domination of the country, has been trying to suppress the popular movement in all ways and means.
