Iraqi cities witness a general strike by closing vital roads and government departments

Protesters in several predominantly Shiite cities, including Baghdad, began a general strike by cutting off vital roads and government departments in a move to increase pressure on the judiciary, legislative and executive authorities and political parties and ruling forces to implement the demands of the demonstrators.
The capital Baghdad
Protesters and activists blocked the road of "Mohammed Al-Qasim", the road of Zaafaraniya with all the exits and entrances of the area, in addition to the bridge of the "banks" and "Dora Abu Dashir" road, and the second secretary, with the canal and highway were cut off.
As well as cutting the Talbiya bridge and preventing the crossing of cars from the hand of "Habayebna" to the side of the Mawal Square, and the closure of the highway of the ornaments of the worker, the torch, and the road leading to the highway.
Protesters closed the "Muzaffar Square", where they set up a tent in the middle of the street, and the closure of the Ubaidi area and the Baghdad-Diyala road.
Dhi Qar province in southern Iraq
Protesters cut off most bridges in the province in a bid to carry out the strike, witnesses said.
Diwaniyah Governorate
Protesters shut down the Diwaniyah Education Directorate and the old Diwaniya governorate building, which currently houses several circles, including political prisoners.
In the same province, they closed the building of the Department of Labor in Diwaniya, the building of the Directorate of Diwaniyah Municipalities, and the Diwaniyah Health Department.
Babylon Governorate
The governorate was also awakened to a general strike and the closure of government departments are as follows: Directorate of Electricity Distribution Euphrates Middle, the building of the governorate of Babylon, the Treasury Department building in Babylon, the building of the Department of Real Estate Registration in Babylon, the building of the Department of Electricity Distribution in Bab al-Hussein, and building Directorate of Education Babylon.
Wasit and Muthanna provinces
Protesters blocked a number of streets in Wasit, bridges and roads in the provincial capital of Samawa, Muthanna province, according to Shafaq News correspondents.
