The General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Banks announced in a statement that 'the annual banking conference of the Union of Arab Banks for 2019 will be held in its place and date on 28 and 29 of November in Beirut'.

The General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Banks in Beirut, in spite of all the recent events in Lebanon, continues with the arrangements and procedures to host the largest and most important international Arab banking demonstration within the activities of the 24th Annual Arab Banking Conference, organized by the Union of Arab Banks under the title: 'Implications of political and economic volatility' On the course of banking in the Arab region 'in Beirut, on 28 and 29 November 2019.
The Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Banks, Wissam Fattouh, had recommended to the members of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Banks consisting of 20 Arab countries, it is recommended to keep the conference in Beirut as previously scheduled on 28 and 29 November 2019 at the Phenicia Hotel, despite the events.
Following consultations with the Board of Directors of the Union, and with the support of the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Union of Arab Banks, the representative of the Lebanese Banks on the Board of Directors, Dr. Joseph Torbey, it was agreed to keep the conference in Beirut without changing its place and date.
Wissam Fattouh said that the insistence of the Arab and international turnout to come to Beirut and participate in this banking and financial festival is a new affirmation of the great confidence enjoyed by Beirut, as the undisputed capital of conferences and money and no one can get this role.
He said: 'Again, the Union of Arab Banks wins the bet on the adoption of the Lebanese capital as a venue for the annual conference of the Union, the qualitative banking and economic participation of delegations from different countries of the world from the Arab Gulf, to America and Europe and the participation of international institutions all proved that Beirut is still at the heart of all Who once loved her and visited her, and once again confirms her leading role in the business world. '
He added that despite all the new circumstances and events in our Arab region, especially Lebanon, the Union of Arab Banks continued to prepare for the conference, which will be attended by more than 700 participants, including ministers and governors of central banks and heads of financial institutions from 26 countries united in one language: security and economic stability.
