Iraqi Cement Company announces the highest production in its history

Iraqi General Cement Company, one of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, on Sunday, revealed the production quantities achieved during the first half of this year and last July of various types of cement.

The company's general manager Hussein Mohsen Al-Khafaji said in a statement received by Al-Iqtisad News, that “high production quantities have been achieved during the past six months exceeding two million and (500) thousand tons of cement produced in the company's non-invested factories with revenues amounting to (75). Billion dinars compared to the same period of the previous year 2018, amounting to one million and (800) thousand tons only, pointing to "achieving the highest production for the first time in the history of the company during the month of July, up to (575) tons with revenues amounting to (15) billion dinars."

Al-Khafaji added, “Achieving these indicators in the quantities of production and sales value is a gain, a footprint and a positive development calculated for the technical staff working in the company in all its laboratories. As a result of terrorism and the return of the movement of work and production in them with high vigor and great challenge and a period not exceeding (110) days despite the proportion of damage, which exceeded the time (70)%, where these plants contributed to the pumping of large quantities of cement to the local market in the province of Nineveh and provinces Aura and subsidized prices amounted to (60) thousand dinars only.

Al-Khafaji pointed out that "the company plans future to increase production in the rest of its factories distributed in most governorates of the country to provide cement material of all kinds with high quality and subsidized prices, stressing the achievement of self-sufficiency of the cement product and the need for any quantity imported from abroad."

It should be noted that the General Company for Iraqi Cement is responsible for the management and operation of (18) plants distributed in the provinces of Iraq, including (6) plants in the province of Nineveh and (2) plant in the province of Najaf and Babylon cement plant and (2) plant in the holy city of Karbala and (2) a plant in Muthanna province and (3) plants in Anbar province, in addition to the Kirkuk Cement Plant and the Umm Qasr grinding station in Basra.
