Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi on Wednesday discussed economic cooperation with the World Bank.
A statement by Abdul Mahdi Media Office received a copy of the news, the latter "received the World Bank's regional director for the Middle East Saroj Kumar and the delegation accompanying him, and discussed the government's vision for the future of the Iraqi economy and plans to promote non-oil producing sectors and diversify sources of income and ways of cooperation in this the field".
The Prime Minister pointed to "grain production, which will amount to about five million tons of wheat, corn, rice and others, which was achieved this year and offset the imports of foreign wheat currently and provided thousands of jobs and boosted the chances of success of the agricultural sector and the growth of the Iraqi economy," also stressed "the importance of supporting investments Producing income and supporting the Iraqi private sector through the International Development Agency, in addition to the contribution of the World Bank in improving the business environment in Iraq and its required standards that help in attracting foreign investment, and cooperation between Iraq and the World Bank to establish joint economic work.
