Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim met with Russian Ambassador to Baghdad, Maxim Maksimov, and discussed with him: ``
Iraqi-Russian relations are growing and developing, and we see that the increasing number of Iraqi students studying in Russian universities is a positive indicator of the growing relationship between Baghdad and Moscow.
He noted that there is political will to develop this relationship and to derive benefits for both sides at the highest levels.
The minister pointed out that bilateral cooperation and understanding at the level of the two governments enhance stability in the region, and further strengthen the Iraqi capabilities to maintain stability, and face security threats; in order to reach peaceful solutions to crises in the Middle East.
He called for the coordination of efforts between the two countries, and to work continuously to create new opportunities for cooperation in the interest of both countries to meet the challenges facing the region.
