Minister of Agriculture Saleh al-Hassani received US Ambassador Matthew Toler to discuss the opening of new horizons of agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
A statement by the Information Office of the Minister of Agriculture received a copy of the news that the ambassador "expressed his happiness for the Ministry of Agriculture's significant increase in agricultural production rates, expressing his country's willingness to invest in Iraq and bringing a delegation of investors to find successful investment opportunities during the coming period."
Al-Hassani pointed to "the readiness of the ministry to cooperate with the American side in various agricultural fields, leading to the continued development in the agricultural sector and there are investment opportunities within the Department of Agricultural Investments and according to the instructions in force."
The ambassador also stressed "the desire of his country to export poultry products and their products to Iraq, inquiring about the controls in place and the possibility of providing some facilities." The minister pointed to "the approvals issued by the Council of Ministers on the importation of poultry factories and poultry farms and it is possible to see the instructions adopted by the Ministries of Agriculture And trade on the subject. "
Stressing that "Iraq's access to self-sufficiency of the wheat crop after the adoption of scientific methods, such as carrying out research experiments and non-adoption of the varieties only after planting in multiple areas and cases under test, and is invited senior farmers to field days and the dissemination of these experiences to other farmers, Poultry to advanced stages of production after these projects were disabled, where the government program contributed to the rehabilitation of infrastructure and labor and to achieve the economic feasibility for educators. "
