Iraqi work discusses mechanism to invest funds of the Social Protection Fund

The Director of the Office of the Head of the Social Protection Department at the Iraqi Ministry of Labor, Hussain Ali, discussed with the Director General of the Fund's Department Jacqueline Saliwa how to implement the Cabinet Resolution No. (173) of 14 May 2019 establishing a mechanism for investing funds of the Protection Fund Social development.
The ministry said in a statement that the decision aims to increase revenues to expand the scope of social welfare benefits, and to benefit from proceeds in the development of the activities of the protection.
She stressed the importance of investment through the Board of Directors of the Fund.
It was agreed to set clear steps for investment and address the Ministry of Finance to remove any obstacle to the start of investment, and talk about the need to activate the board of the Fund and the development of plans and investment programs in the future for discussion and feasibility study before approval and start implementation.
