President of the Republic Barham Salih, during a meeting with Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy, Joe Hood, today, the position of Iraq towards the crisis in the region.
"Iraq is keen to pursue a constructive dialogue in dealing with crises and avoiding war policies and axes," he said.

"We call for the removal of Iraq from the policies of axes and spare the effects of conflicts and crises in accordance with its national interests in stability and prosperity."
The two sides also discussed deepening the bilateral relations between the two countries and the need to establish a stable regional system based on the common security system, respect for sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs.

President Barham Salih on Sunday stressed the need to establish a stable regional system that would distance Iraq and the peoples of the region from the specter of conflict.
In a statement received during a reception at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the ambassadors of Britain, France and Germany said that Iraq is starting with a clear vision of adopting a constructive dialogue between the parties concerned to deal with the crises and find effective and radical solutions to them. Iraq's policy is based on keeping away from the axis policy of any party and intensifying efforts through diplomatic channels to reach political solutions that promote peace and stability in the region. "
He added that "Iraq's stance towards the crises of the region stems from the commitment to its national policies and its supreme interest," stressing the importance of avoiding the country effects of conflicts and crises and to preserve the national interests and protect the stability achieved for Iraqis and the peoples of the region.
The president stressed "the importance of strengthening and strengthening relations with European countries and Iraq's desire to develop cooperation and coordination to serve the common interests." He praised the European Union's efforts to support Iraq in various fields, especially in the field of returning displaced people and helping them.
For their part, the "Ambassadors of the three European countries expressed their satisfaction with the development of relations with Iraq and the efforts of their countries to consolidate and increase cooperation," praising "the balanced foreign policy of Iraq and the role it plays in its Arab and regional environment."
