The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced on Sunday the statistics of the air traffic of Iraqi airports operating in the country during the first quarter of 2019, indicating that the total number of passengers departing and coming to Iraqi airports was (1,637,462) passengers and the number of flights reached (20206) flight and departure.

The Civil Aviation Authority in a statement received by "Economy News" a copy of it, "This statistic issued by the Division of Air Traffic Statistics of the Department of Planning and Follow-up in the Authority, which saw a clear increase in the rate of passengers and flights to Iraqi airports (Baghdad, Basra, Najaf, Erbil, ) Compared to previous years, which resulted from the effort and continuous work by the concerned at those airports with a range of facilities and services granted to enhance the reality of work.

"The total number of passengers traveling through Baghdad International Airport reached 726497 passengers with trips of 7138 trips, and the total number of passengers to Basra International Airport 171403 passengers and a total of 2,174 trips."

The total number of passengers traveling to Najaf Airport was 528202 passengers and total flights amounted to 4922 trips. The total number of travelers to Erbil International Airport was 185,262 passengers and 4,588 flights. As for Sulaymaniyah International Airport, the total number of passengers traveling was 26098 passengers, The departure was 1,384 trips. "
