MP Faiq al-Sheikh Ali on Friday called on Iraq's donor countries not to hand over any money to the Baghdad government, adding that if that happened, the money would go to "pockets of thieves and robbers."

"As a deputy on behalf of the Iraqi people, I address the donor countries (especially the Gulf countries)," Ali said in a tweet on his Twitter account today (April 5, 2019). "Do not hand over our governments dinars, dirhams, or rials ... because they will go to groups of thieves and barbarians. "He said.
He added: "The solution is to supervise yourselves to build schools, homes, hospitals and playgrounds."

Sheikh Ali concluded by saying: "If you give the government money, I will spit on you!"
