This came in a statement made by Al-Jarallah to (KUNA) at the end of a round of talks held with Iraqi officials headed by the Iraqi side and Undersecretary of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry Nizar al-Khairallah. Al-Jarallah said that his visit to Iraq comes within the framework of consultation and coordination between the two countries and is an update of the talks held during the visit of the Undersecretary of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to Kuwait last year. He said the two countries are keen to communicate and build excellent relations based on solid foundations to serve the interests of their peoples. He revealed that the two sides also discussed a number of outstanding issues between the two countries and the need to work on resolving and ending. He said that the talks also dealt with preparations for the meetings of the Kuwaiti-Iraqi Higher Ministerial Committee scheduled to be held in Kuwait in April.
Al-Khairallah said that the main objective of the visit of Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Al-Jarallah was to prepare for the meetings of the Higher Ministerial Committee, stressing the political will of the two governments to develop bilateral relations.
He added that they discussed outstanding issues and future projects as well as files related to trade and economic integration between the two countries.
It is likely that other meetings will be held before the date of the meeting of the Higher Ministerial Committee, for the parties keen to build a clear vision and preparation well before the meeting.
