just a reminder from an old-time dinariran: many years ago, probably 10 - 12 we heard that when Kuwait was revaluing during the Clinton admin., the people there had been told to be ready .... then one morning the tv announced that someone important, Prez or PM I believe, had died so the country was going into mourning for days if not weeks so the RV was off .... then late that very same day the dead guy showed up on tv, announced the RV and folks went to the banks!

Over 100 people have now been declared dead following a ferry disaster in northern Iraq on Thursday. The packed boat was crossing the River Tigris near Mosul during Persian New Year and Mother's Day celebrations, when it went down killing scores of people - mostly women and children.
