The Central Bureau of Statistics is holding a meeting with the Civil Aviation Authority aimed at discussing the statistics of air transport activity

A meeting and workshop on the air transport activity were held in the hall of the Central Bureau of Statistics in the presence of the Director of Transport and Communications Statistics, Anam Hassan Kazem, members of the Statistical Coordination Committee of the Ministry of Transport, the General Company of Iraqi Airways and the members of the Committee from the Civil Aviation Authority. 
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the statistics of this activity and to develop methodologies and indicators in the final report, as well as exchange experiences and data for the purpose of improving the performance and development of the role of the national carrier through an Iraqi and global partnership efficiently and supporting the private sector in the field of air transport activity.
During the meeting, several important issues were discussed regarding air transport activity. There are currently five airports in Iraq (Baghdad, Basrah, Arbil, Sulaymaniyah and Najaf). They operate under the authority of the Federal Civil Aviation. The transport activities are carried out by the General Company of Iraqi Airways. Related to the 2017 report and the important challenges and problems related to the activity to complete the 2018 report.
