The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Mehdi Al-Alaq, during his meeting with the Representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Iraq, Dr. Olorimi Sognru, on the support and contributions of donors and diplomatic missions in the embassies of the Kingdom of Norway, Sweden, Canada and Australia for the efforts of the United Nations Population Fund in Iraq programs aimed at providing interventions and humanitarian response to women and girls throughout the country.
During the meeting, they discussed several issues related to the vision and strategy of the United Nations Population Fund for the coming period and exchanged views on the mechanism of implementation of the General Population Census in Iraq and provide an overview of the most important donor meetings to be held in the coming period.
During the meeting, Sognru expressed the interest of donors and their continued commitment to support the upcoming programs aimed at serving the development and reconstruction sector and according to the priorities of the Iraqi government. He also called for Iraq's participation in the New York Development and Population Conference for April 7-11, Framework for supporting Iraq's funding programs of common interest.
