"Don't Give in" - Wed. AM TNT Thoughts/News 3/6/19

Don't give in we are almost there. There were security issues. It is a slow roll out. It has almost reached us…. Think of it like being in a line in a grocery store, waiting our turn to reach the cash register. There are people in front of us who may take longer than expected. We are still in the line waiting for our turn.

In an effort to circumvent US sanctions, Iran is making every effort to withdraw hard currency from Iraq.
Iran's efforts are hampered by measures taken by the Iraqi Central Bank to boost the dinar by buying gangs of dollars from companies in large quantities.
Or put Iranian companies to sell iron and cement and spare parts of cars and electrical appliances, at prices by about twenty or twenty-five percent if purchased from them in US dollars. link
US Secretary of State begins visit to region next week
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced Wednesday that he will make a new tour of the Middle East, including Lebanon, Kuwait and the Zionist entity.
"I will visit Beirut, Kuwait and (Israel)," Pompeo was quoted as saying by The National newspaper in a report.
"The time for the visit to Beirut has not yet been determined and it will be his first visit to Lebanon since he took office in April," the diplomat said. "Veteran diplomat David Starfield arrived in Beirut on Tuesday to make arrangements for the visit. He met with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil.
"The purpose of the visit will focus on the US engagement with Lebanon on Iran and Hezbollah and on security, defense and economic issues between the two sides. The US $ 70 million annual assistance is expected to be provided to Lebanese state institutions," she said.
"Although some members of the US Congress are calling for a review of the aid package, there is strong support in Trump's administration to continue military support for the army as a counter-strike against Hezbollah," said Randa Salim, a fellow Middle East scholar. "As in Iraq, US support for the government and the armed forces provides a necessary balance to balance Iran's influence in both countries without necessarily succeeding in significantly diminishing this influence." link
