Talabani stresses importance of fair distribution of Iraq’s wealth

Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani stressed, “Iraq’s ethnic, sectarian and spectrum variety are source of strength to its democracy, as stipulated in its constitution.”

During his meeting on Thursday, Oct. 6, with a delegation representing Anbar’s Provincial Council, Talabani stressed, “The necessity of fair distribution of Iraq’s wealth as stipulated in the Constitution.”

A statement issued by the President’s Office quoted Talabani praising the role of Iraqis of Anbar province in making security and stability prevail and in combating terrorism.

The delegation presented a detailed explanation of their province’s needs, pointing out that the province participates in preserving Iraq’s security and peace, stressing the province’s importance in trade, economy and investment.

For his part, President Talabani expressed full support to their legitimate demands in accordance with the Constitution, being guardian of the Constitution.

Talabani shed light on Iraq’s political situation and the need for unity among all of Iraq’s spectrums to protect and consolidate its social fabric. / End.
