Urgent .. Iyad Allawi announced officially giving up the presidency

[Baghdad - where] Announced that the existing Iraqi President Iyad Allawi, giving up the presidency
of the National Council of the Supreme policies.
He said in a speech today at a news conference that "we give up again for the presidency of the National Council of the Supreme policies in response to the desire of the people and the religious authorities."
It is said that the relationship between state law and the existing Iraqi crisis and clear because of the dispute-winning implementation of the terms of the Erbil, in particular about the formation of the high-level policy agreed on the composition of the Convention on Arbil, which formed the current government on the light, as the dispute is centered on the powers of this Council and the extent of requiring its to the government, which declared head of the list for giving up for the job.

I understood the sentence about Allawi resigning the presidency; after that it makes no sense to me. Interpretor please??? :cyclops:

My interpretation

He is done. He is done because of the ongoing issues surrounding the Erbil Agreement and other issues that effect the country. I also interpreted that he is being asked to step down by the "religious authorities" and the people of Iraq.

u need to go read all of the statement put out by Allawi. What was stated here is not totally true.

See Press Conference article I posted, it implies he is permanently stepping down due to corruption and on going unresolved agreements.
