US Embassy: We brought 50 investment companies to Iraq

The US embassy in Baghdad said on Wednesday that the embassy brought about 50 investment companies to Iraq.
"People need jobs, and we encourage job opportunities," Hudd said in a speech at the Fourth International Conference Against Struggle Media, held in Baghdad.
He added that "the embassy has brought more than 50 companies to know the work in Iraq." He pointed out that "a secure and stable Iraq is in the interest of the United States." LINK

Like I eluded to yesterday in a post... The movie has been over for a while... With it being a special effects type of film, the credits are long, and mountains of popcorn have been consumed while we watch all of these great articles coming out basically declaring to us it is finished... But never the less we have to watch the credits in order to see the post credit scene that will entail the announcement we seek being made..

After 15 years of oscillation between capitalism and socialism, economists said, Najaf was the first economic council to bring together more than 1,200 businessmen to develop business strategies and plans for the future.
The Economic Council has been asked to involve it in government decision-making, in terms of economy and trade, and remain independent at the same time to support the private sector.

The Saudi ambassador in Baghdad, Abdul Aziz al-Shammari, announced on Wednesday the convening of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council in Baghdad in March, pointing out that the meeting will sign the signing of many agreements and the launch of several projects between the two countries.
"The Saudi-Saudi Coordination Council will be held in the Iraqi capital Baghdad next March, and many agreements are expected to be signed and several projects will be launched between the two countries on the sidelines of the meeting," al-Shammari said in a statement to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
"The Iraqi-Iraqi relations are at their best and there will be a close visit by Iraqi officials to Saudi Arabia," Shammari said. "In the next two months, visas will be granted to Iraqis from Baghdad and the official opening of the Saudi consulate there." LINK
Italy prepares for Iraq investment conference in Rome

Italian Ambassador to Iraq Bruno Pasqueno has announced his country's preparations for an expanded investment conference in the Italian capital of Rome, in coordination with the Iraqi Embassy, the National Investment Commission and the joint government-government relations committee.
"The Italian embassy has invited the Dhi Qar province administration to participate in this conference by offering investment opportunities to encourage Italian companies to enter the local market," Pasqueno said during a meeting with the governor of Dhi Qar Yahya al-Nasseri in the governorate office on Tuesday. This conference will be a first step to develop the common relations between the two countries."
For his part, Naciri stressed "the existence of many investment opportunities in the province in various areas, including the oil industry, services, infrastructure and other sectors. The local government in the province also signed a memorandum of understanding with China's Hansom company, which specializes in developing the infrastructure sector. LINK
Kuwaiti Trade Minister arrives in Iraq to discuss establishment of free trade zone

The Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Services of Kuwait arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday heading an official delegation on a two-day visit to discuss the establishment of a free trade zone and the signing of an agreement
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce said in a press statement read by "Economy News" that the Minister Khalid Al-Roudhan will meet during his visit to Iraqi President Barham Salih, Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Halbusi
It will also hold an open meeting with several Iraqi bodies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Transport, Industry and Minerals, the Central Bank of Iraq, the General Authority for Border Ports, the National Investment Authority, the Fund for the Reconstruction of the Affected Areas and the General Administration of Customs
Al-Roudhan will meet with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammed Al-Ani and will hold a meeting with the Union of Chambers, the Federation of Industries, the Federation of Businessmen, the National Business Council and the Economic Council to discuss means of developing trade relations between the two countries
The minister is accompanied by an official delegation comprising representatives of several governmental bodies including the Public Authority for Industry, the Direct Investment Promotion Authority, the Competition Protection Authority, the Kuwait Ports Corporation, the General Administration of Customs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The delegation also includes representatives from the World Bank, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the General Authority for Investment, the Kuwait Fund for Development, the General Administration of Ports, the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport, and the Silk Development Agency LINK
Iraq signs finance agreement with EU

Iraqi Planning Minister Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi signed with the European Union ambassador to Baghdad Ramon Blecua a finance agreement for economic and social projects with the amount of 41.5 million Euros.
The agreement shall be implemented by the UNDP in Iraq in collaboration with the central and local governments.
The signature was attended by Basra Governor As’ad al-Idani, according to a ministerial statement.
The statement added that ministry will initiate a number of vital projects in different Iraqi provinces, particularly in Basra and Nineveh provinces.
The agreement will have three parts; the first shall be implemented by the UNESCO to rehabilitate historical and cultural sites, as well economic aspects in Basra and Nineveh province.
The second part will be done by FAO to revive economic activities in Nineveh villages, the voluntary return of refugees and better services.
The third part will be made through international and local cooperation to provide technical and financial support for youth projects. LINK

With it being a special effects type of film, the credits are long, and mountains of popcorn have been consumed while we watch all of these great articles coming out basically declaring to us it is finished...
