The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Dr. Mahdi Al-Alak, stressed the importance of implementing the survey of the educational quality system to obtain realistic results that contribute to raising the level of education in Iraq.

This came during a meeting with Dr. Bonnie Calland, Director of Planning for UNICEF in Iraq and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the most important developments and challenges facing the implementation of the program of assessment of the quality of education in Iraq, most notably the size of the selected sample to be conducted by the Cambridge Educational Foundation through the implementation of a survey mission in the provinces of the country, including the Kurdistan region in partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Education and provide the project with specialized experts and technical skills and scientific material .

The delegation pointed out that the project aims at building a system to monitor the educational achievement in the country as a means of improving the quality of education as the primary education period lasts for 6 years.

During the meeting, Caland also called on the Secretary General to participate in the workshop of the quality assessment system for education in Iraq, scheduled for March 3-7 in Amman, Jordan, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Education.
