"The positions of the European Union and the League are in line with the most important current regional crises, such as finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria," she said, noting that both sides emphasized the need to speed up a solution to the war in Yemen and the conflict in Libya. Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit told the press conference that "during the meeting, the participants pledged to make additional efforts to ensure the implementation of UN resolutions, the Security Council and various related initiatives, in particular the Arab Peace Initiative for the Middle East."
