[ltr]US special forces are besieging the leader of the Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi organization in western Iraq, media reports said Sunday.[/ltr]

[ltr]The New Arab newspaper in a report, quoting a senior official, that 'a special US force crossed to Syria by land across the Kurdistan region during the past days after receiving information indicating the presence of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi within an area of about 10 km within the province of Deir al-Zour border with Iraq ',[/ltr]

[ltr]The official added that 'the American special squad was located inside a military base in the city of Arbil and moved to within the Syrian territory,' likely to be 'the same division was assigned previously to follow up and liquidation of the former leader of al-Qaeda in 2011'.[/ltr]
