BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Laudrian confirmed on Monday the French government's keenness to support Iraq with security and reconstruction files.
"The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Al Halbusi received today in the Council building in the presence of his deputies and a number of deputies, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Laudrian and his accompanying delegation," the Information Office of the Parliament Speaker said in a statement received by Mawazine News.
"The government of Iraq and the House of Representatives are keen to cooperate with the international community - including France - in areas of mutual interest, including the fight against terrorism and extremist organizations," Halboussi said.
The speaker praised the "French role in supporting Iraq in the file of displaced persons and the allocation of a loan of 430 million euros to reconstruct the liberated cities and contribute to the reconstruction of Mosul University." He stressed that " Strengthen and serve the relationship between the two countries. "
For his part, Laudrian stressed "the keenness of the French government to support Iraq in the important files related to security and reconstruction."

With all of these countries lining up to invest in Iraq and international organizations doing the same. It looks like they might shut up stop acting important and ACTIVATE their economy

Well right Jim, but the problem is the budget that is not yet voting, that's what delays everything, even the representative of the UN told them to accelerate the vote for the bubget to begin reconstruction when it's going to be done everything is going to be done all of a sudden, and the committe told us that they all agreed to settle this within 3 weeks, so for January according to them, then I do not see that before the end of January for our change, still 17 days to wait, but this is my personal opinion, I may be wrong on the prediction, but I am not a guru, a reader of news only who shares an opinion !!!

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance receives the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Mr. Fouad Hussein in Baghdad received Ms. Janet Hines representative of UN Secretary - General Lamm in Iraq.
Mrs. Henness presented congratulations and congratulations to Mr. Fuad Hussein on the occasion of forming the government and appointing him to his new post, which is his success and success. French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Laudrian announced that his country had agreed to grant a one-billion-dollar loan to Iraq to contribute to the reconstruction of war-affected areas.
The statement came in the words of Ludran on Monday following the negotiations in Baghdad with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammed al-Hakim, according to the agency "Reuters".
During his visit to Baghdad, Loudrian held two meetings with Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halboussi.
Abdel-Mahdi thanked France for the cancellation of debts owed by Iraq through the Paris Club, praising the importance of relations with Paris for Baghdad, and expressed the Iraqi government's desire to expand cooperation with France.
Abdul Mahdi stressed that "the democratic experience in Iraq is strengthened and achieve progress for the benefit of all citizens," calling for the construction of "balances that support moderation, middle and civic values."
