Arab Monetary Fund issues the unified Arab economic report for 2018

Within the framework of the efforts of the Arab Monetary Fund in cooperation with a number of Arab joint labor institutions to support decision-makers in the Arab countries, the Fund issued the thirty-eighth edition of https://www.amf.org.ae/en/content/joint-arab-economic-report-2018-brief-english-version "https://www.amf.org.ae/en/content/joint-arab-economic-report-2018-brief-english-version Consolidated Economic Report 2018" in its Arabic and English versions.
The Arab Consolidated Economic Report is a model of fruitful cooperation between the Arab joint labor institutions. The Arab League, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, the Arab Monetary Fund and the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) are participating in the preparation of this report. In addition, since the beginning of the report, the Arab Monetary Fund has been tasked with editing and issuing the report.
The institutions participating in the preparation of the report are keen to accurately reflect the situation of the Arab economies both in terms of data and information available, and in terms of the methodology of its preparation and development. The authors of the report rely on data and information derived from reliable official national sources through a comprehensive questionnaire The purpose is to be met by the relevant authorities in the member countries.
In terms of methodology, the participating institutions are keen to include in the chapters of the report an analysis of economic developments in the Arab countries using the main indicators, and classification of the Arab countries according to the subjects under study to facilitate comparative analysis. For this purpose, data on economic developments in the Arab countries are calculated in US dollars according to the exchange rate of national currencies from the data provided by States for the purposes of the report.
The Arab Economic Report 2018 provides a comprehensive analysis of the economic developments witnessed by the Arab countries during 2017. The chapters discuss the developments of global economies and their implications for the Arab economies, and an analysis of the economic and social developments in the Arab countries,
In the sectors of agriculture, industry, oil and energy, developments in terms of public finances, monetary and banking conditions and developments in the Arab capital markets. The report then moves on to developments in foreign trade, intra-trade, balance of payments, external public debt and exchange rates.
As usual, each chapter of the report deals with a topic that is the top priority of the Arab countries. The chapter of the report focuses on the topic "The prospects of generating electricity using renewable energy sources in the Arab countries". The report then presents a presentation of Arab and international development assistance. As part of highlighting the importance of joint Arab economic cooperation, this year's report also deals with a chapter on Arab cooperation in the field of "establishing the Arab Common Market for Electricity".
