BAGHDAD (Reuters) -

The General Authority of Customs held a coordination meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the director general of the authority Munther Abdul Amir Asad, while the directors of the customs centers attended the ports of Basra.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the authority said in a statement that "the Director General of the Authority Munther Abdul Amir Asad, in the presence of the managers of customs centers in the ports of Basra, discussed at the meeting the most important obstacles facing the customs centers in the ports of Basra, and ways to address them and improve customs work, Difficulties to improve the status of these centers in order to facilitate customs clearance procedures. "
She added that it was "guidance on coordination with the ministries and the General Company for Iraqi Ports and the province of Basra on cooperation with the centers of the Authority working in ports for the purpose of taking the necessary legal action on the subject."
The Commission referred to "all customs centers to control cases of evasion of payment of customs duties, as well as the elimination of all forms of smuggling and combat cases of administrative corruption."
