A member of the oil and energy committee, Faleh al-Khazali, said on Saturday that there was a delay in implementing the law "Basra, Iraq's economic capital" despite the need for it.
"We are addressing a parliamentary question to the Prime Minister and the Basra Provincial Council on the reason for delaying the implementation of Law 66 of 2017, which was legislated by the Council of Representatives (Basra, Iraq's economic capital)," Khazali said in a statement. "
He stressed that "despite the issuance of this law since the previous session, but we find that there are clear in its application because of the lack of regulations and instructions to implement the law."
"Basra needs an urban revolution in order to upgrade all its infrastructure and various sectors because it suffers from a clear deterioration in the level of its services, even though it is the economic basket of Iraq," Khazali said.
