Baghdad:

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halbusi, on Sunday, the Parliament's intention to enact laws to serve the Iraqi citizen, pointing to the importance of the role of the Federal Supreme Court in constitutional oversight and what is issued by the authorities in the country.

"The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Al Halbusi visited the President of the Federal Supreme Court Judge Medhat al-Mahmoud, to discuss the strengthening of relations between the legislative and judicial institutions."

Al-Halbusi stressed during the meeting, 'the determination of the House of Representatives enact a set of laws that serve the Iraqi citizen', pointing to 'the importance of the role of the Federal Supreme Court in the control of the constitutionality of what is issued by the authorities in the country'.

For his part, stressed Mahmoud, according to the statement on 'continued cooperation between the House of Representatives and the judiciary; in order to enact laws in accordance with the Constitution and the principles set by the Federal Supreme Court'.

The statement added that 'Halabousi attended the session of the Federal Supreme Court to consider the law of the House of Representatives and waiver of defense in the paragraph on the rights of pensions to the parliament and stressing the need to include the deputy uniform retirement law similar to state employees'.
