Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Humaidi, General Manager of the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF), will inaugurate the first meeting of the Working Group on Modern Financial Technologies in Abu Dhabi on December 11, 2018, in the presence of representatives of central banks and Arab monetary institutions, ministries of finance, Commercial banks and financial services companies as well as representatives of modern financial technology providers in the Arab countries, experts from various regional and international financial institutions and frameworks, as well as a number of leading private sector institutions in the field of technology Modern finance.

The creation of the group comes in response to the directives of the Arab finance ministers and their Excellencies the governors of the central banks and the Arab monetary institutions in following up the applications of financial technologies and their development in recognition of the growing importance of the use of modern financial technologies in the financial and banking sector. And the great opportunities offered by these technologies and services to enhance the efficiency of financial and banking operations, particularly in the areas of access to finance and financial services and the promotion of entrepreneurship. Which enhances the need to discuss and discuss at the level of policy makers on the implications of the uses and trends of these technologies in order to maximize the benefit of the opportunities offered by them while at the same time reducing the negative impact on the integrity and integrity of financial and banking work.

The group, which includes professionals and experts from Arab countries, from the public and private sectors, experts from regional and international financial institutions, service providers, and leading international organizations, aims at discussing the topics of modern financial techniques, consulting and exchanging experiences and knowledge on their issues and developing different visions for their revitalization and organization. In this context, Dr. Al-Humaidi pointed to the great importance of this group as a platform for dialogue, advice and recommendations on the issues of enhancing the applications of modern financial technologies and overcoming the challenges related to them in the Arab countries.
