BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi parliament speaker Hamad al-Halbousi discussed with US Deputy Secretary of State Good Hood political developments and the importance of continuing Washington's support for Baghdad.
Al-Halabousi said in a statement on Tuesday that Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Al-Halabousi met in his office with US Deputy Ambassador to Baghdad Joe Hood and his accompanying delegation, which discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the region, On the importance of continued US support for Iraq at all levels.
He added that the two sides also discussed the efforts of the executive and legislative authorities to ensure the voluntary return of displaced people and provide them with the necessary services to ensure the normalization of their situation as soon as possible.
The Halaboussi - according to the statement - the determination of the House of Representatives to complete the current government formation in such a way that ensures the acceleration of the implementation of the government program and provides the appropriate ground for reconstruction and the resumption of investment in the country and provide employment opportunities.
