A delegation from the Customs Authority, on Wednesday, visited the province of Erbil, to discuss the unification of work at all border crossings of the country, with the authorities of the Kurdistan region.
The Authority said in a statement received by "Economy News" that "a high-level delegation of the General Authority of Customs, headed by the Director General of the body Munther Abdul Amir Assad, accompanied by representatives of the Prime Minister and the relevant ministries, to Erbil, to discuss the file unification of work procedures at the border crossings In the region with the border posts in the country. "
"The visit aims to find appropriate solutions to the problems and obstacles at the border crossings in the region as well as the unification of work at all border crossings of the Republic of Iraq, including ports of the region."
"The atmosphere is positive and fruitful and the meetings are continuing to come out with recommendations aimed at enforcing federal laws, decisions and instructions, standardizing tariffs and customs procedures, simplifying procedures and eliminating red tape in order to facilitate trade exchange and support the private sector," the statement said.
The Authority pointed out that "there are five border ports in the region are Ibrahim Khalil, Haj Amran, Bashmakh, Erbil International Airport and Sulaymaniyah International Airport."
